Doggy Dawdles At Doggy Dawdles we offer a friendly, reliable dog walking service around the Lothians. Walks will be varied around the county. I also offer:

📍 Serving East Lothian and surrounding areas I have always had and been around dogs as members of our family so I understand their needs, although all unique, ultimately come down to exercise, stimulation and socialisation. Having had dogs and having to work long hours and juggle other commitments while ensuring my four-legged friend was well cared for I am best placed to understand how hard it can be. Your dog will be picked up from their home and dropped off, with clean paws (and anything else that gets muddy) having had lots of fun. Your doggy will be given their own collar and tag with Doggy Dawdles tags. All doggies, if permission given, will have their photos taken on walks and visits and posted on Doggy Dawdles social media as a means to keep mums and dads up-to-date 🙂 Shows the fur babies having fun! New Dogs will be walked on the leash until we learn to trust each other, and recall can be tested. Doggy Dawdles will ensure that your dogs needs are met while giving them some loving company, with cuddles and treats (if allowed) throughout the working day. I have spent the last wee while studying and travelling, continuing my love for Animals, and have a HNC in Animal Care, BSc Animal Biology, MSc Wildlife Biology and Conservation and a diploma in Advanced Canine Behaviour from the British College of Canine Studies. Pet Visits for small furries (cats, rodents and rabbits, etc), birds and reptiles.
2. Pet Sitting for dogs in their own home for 1 or more nights while you go to an event or any on a holiday.
3. Event Chaperone - if you would like your dog(s) to be a part of your big day or other event.
4. Training - 1:1 sessions
5. Nutrition advice
6. Pet Transportation

Dogs must be fully vaccinated (or titre tested), flea and worm treated. In season bi***es will be available for solo walks only (where availability allows). Unneutered dogs will be assessed as individuals. I will cover the local areas from Tranent (Musselburgh, Prestonpans, Wallyford, Port Seton, Macmerry, Ormiston and Elphinstone) as standard but will consider out with these areas too, so please ask. Ever looked at your dog and thought, "What on earth are you doing?" 😂

Before deciding they're being stubborn, naughty or just a wee menace, try playing detective.

🐾 What happened immediately afterwards?

Dogs don't always behave the way we expect, but there's usually something worth understanding behind what they're doing.

Sometimes the smallest observations give us the biggest clues.

🐾 It’s not all dogs… or cats, but WILDLIFE TOO! 🐦🌊

A lovely bit of coastal wildlife watching, with an oystercatcher pottering along the shoreline, turnstones searching among the rocks and cormorants standing with their wings spread wide to dry themselves. 😍

All of that, with the bridges stretching across the background, what a view!

One of the best parts of spending so much time outdoors is getting to pause and appreciate the wildlife sharing our local walking spots. It’s also a good reminder to give birds plenty of space, keep dogs under close control around them and enjoy the show from a respectful distance. 💚

Your dog doesn't know you're getting married.

They just know you're not home.

And for a lot of dogs, that's the bit that matters most. Not the flowers, not the venue, not the dress. Just.. where's my person, is my bed still here, and why does this smell different?

Cooper didn't come to the wedding. But he didn't have to uproot his whole world either. Same house. Same walks. Same sofa he's definitely not supposed to be on. Someone there to keep things ticking along exactly as he likes them.

That familiarity is doing more than you might think. Routine is genuinely stabilising for dogs. When the sights, smells and schedule stay the same, the stress of their humans being away is so much easier to manage.

Pet sitting in your own home keeps all of that intact. No strange kennels. No new environments to adjust to. No coming home to a dog who's had a rough few days and needs another week to decompress.

And if you want your dog at the wedding itself? That's an option too. I offer Wedding Dog Chaperone services for couples who want their dog in the photographs, part of the ceremony, or just nearby for the moments that matter, without having to worry about managing them themselves on the day.

Bonfire Night is still weeks away. But your dog doesn't know that.

The bangs start early. Random evenings, unexpected booms, the odd rocket at 9pm on a Tuesday in mid-October. By the time November 5th actually arrives, some dogs have already spent two weeks on high alert.

These leads are rare. And once they're gone, that's it.

And, frankly, he takes both responsibilities very seriously.

Whether he is charging towards the camera with his favourite ball firmly secured or casually strolling through the grass looking like he has booked himself a professional countryside photoshoot, Wh***ey always knows where the lens is.

The ball may be the star of the walk in Wh***ey’s opinion… but that face is giving it some serious competition. 😍

Honestly, some dogs make taking photographs far too easy.
