🐔 Did you know? Pure breeds and hybrid hens can differ when it comes to egg laying 🥚

If you’re choosing hens for your garden, it’s worth knowing that pure breed hens generally lay fewer eggs than hybrid hens. Pure breeds are often chosen for their beautiful markings, interesting characteristics and unique personalities, while hybrids have typically been bred with egg production in mind.

That doesn’t make one better than the other, it simply depends on what you’re looking for from your flock.

Pure breeds can be a wonderful addition to a mixed flock, and watching their different personalities and characteristics develop is all part of the fun of keeping chickens!

🐔 NEW POULTRY DELIVERY HAS ARRIVED🐔

Our latest poultry delivery has arrived at The Poultry Centre at today, with a fantastic selection of Hybrid and Pure Breed birds now settling into their new surroundings. 🐓🌿

After their journey, they’re taking some time to settle in and cool down, so our Poultry Team are keeping a close eye on them and making sure they’re comfortable.

If you’re thinking about adding to your flock or have any questions about our birds, their care or availability, please give us a call and speak to a member of our knowledgeable Poultry Team, they’ll be happy to help.
