Taylor Vets Towcester Taylor Vets Towcester provides personal, independent veterinary care for pets and poultry from our practice at The Bell Plantation.

Led by Dr Polly Smith MRCVS, a local vet with over 20 years’ experience, we’re a friendly, independent team dedicated to providing exceptional care for pets and their owners in Towcester and beyond. Our services include routine health checks, puppy and kitten advice, vaccinations, neutering, parasite treatment, microchipping, dental care, nurse clinics, X-rays, diagnostic testing, repeat prescriptions and specialist diets. Outside our usual opening hours, emergency care is provided by our Taylor Vets team in Brackley, who have full access to your animal’s medical records.

A grape escape for little Friedrich! 🍇

A few weeks ago, Friedrich visited us out of hours after helping himself to some grapes from the vine at home.

Thanks to his owners’ quick action, Friedrich received prompt treatment. Grapes contain tartaric acid, which can be toxic to dogs and may cause acute kidney injury.

He later visited our team at Towcester for repeat blood tests to make sure he was still fit and well. Of course, we got to enjoy a few cuddles before he went home!

Remember: If your dog eats grapes or raisins, contact your us immediately, even if they seem fine. Signs of toxicity can include vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy and changes in thirst or urination.

The cat is microchipped but there are no contact details associated with the chip. We are appealing for help to locate their owners.

The cat was found on the Stoke Road, Blisworth

Supporting our local community and the pets who are such an important part of it is at the heart of everything we do.

We know that pets are so much more than companions. Our pets are cherished members of the family, bringing love, comfort and joy through every stage of life.

That’s why our team recently donated dog food to Towcester Foodbank, to help local families keep their much-loved pets happy, healthy and well-fed.

Meet Jemima, your Lead Veterinary Nurse 🐾

Jemima graduated from Anglia Ruskin University in 2021 with a degree in Veterinary Nursing and Applied Animal Behaviour. She has always had a huge love of animals, particularly cats, so veterinary nursing felt like a very natural career choice for her.

Her favourite part of the job is inpatient care. She really enjoys looking after pets while they’re with the team, making sure they feel as safe, comfortable and well cared for as possible throughout their stay.

At home, Jemima has a very lively kitten called Basil, who definitely keeps her on her toes! When she’s not spending time with him, she’ll usually be found reading a good book or cheering on the Northampton Saints.

⭐ Happy Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Day! ⭐

When you walk through the doors of Taylor Vets, our Client Care Team are often the first people you meet.

But their role is about so much more than answering the phone or welcoming clients through the door.

That’s why we call them our Client Care Team.

They are the calm voice when someone is worried about their pet, the friendly face at the front desk, the coordinators of prescriptions, referrals and new registrations, and the team that keeps everything moving day to day.

They support you through new beginnings and difficult goodbyes, and are there at every step of the client journey.

Meet Sara, your Practice Manager.

We’re delighted to introduce Sara, who brings with her more than 20 years’ experience in customer service and management.

Sara joins the Taylor Vets team after looking for an opportunity to work within a smaller, independent business where she can make a real difference.

Outside of work, she’s a mum to three teenagers and Barney, their chocolate Labrador.

Sara loves the theatre and tries to see as many shows as she can. Travelling with her family is also a real passion, discovering new places and making memories together is something she never gets bored of!

Sara is really enjoying her new role and has loved getting to know you, your pets and the wider Taylor Vets team. She’s looking forward to getting to know even more of you and making sure you and your pets always feel welcome and well looked after when you visit us. 💚
