🐾 LET'S SETTLE A PROPER DEBATE: Where does your four-legged friend snooze? 🛏️💤

As the Devon nights start drawing in and it's time to settle down for a proper cosy evening, our pets are the absolute experts at finding the best warm spots in the house. But when it's time for lights out, where do yours end up?

Cast your vote in the comments below:

💜A: "The Bed Hog" – Right up on the duvet with you! They act as the ultimate hot water bottle, even if they somehow manage to take up 90% of the mattress. 🥰

💚 "The Good Neighbour" – Content as can be, curled up in their own lovely basket or favourite spot elsewhere. 🐈‍⬛🐕

There’s no wrong answer here—a good cuddle is the best part of the day!

👇 Drop an A or B in the comments to let us know where your lot sleep! (And please share a photo if they have a particularly funny sleeping position!) 📸

🍂 Heading out for an autumn walk this weekend?

Autumn is one of the best times of the year to explore our local woods, parks, and coastal trails.

However, the change in season brings a few specific hazards that dog owners should watch out for:

🌰 Conkers & Acorns: Falling from horse chestnut and oak trees, these are toxic to dogs if chewed or swallowed. They can cause severe stomach upsets, vomiting, and can even act as a dangerous intestinal blockage. Keep a close eye on your dog in wooded areas.

🍂 Mounds of Fallen Leaves: Piles of damp, decaying leaves are prime breeding grounds for bacteria and toxic moulds. They can also easily hide sharp sticks, broken glass, or rocks that can cut paw pads.

🍄 Wild Mushrooms: Fungi thrive in damp autumn weather. While many are harmless, some wild mushrooms are highly poisonous to dogs. It’s best to discourage your dog from sniffing or eating any fungi on the trail.

🚗 Darker Mornings & Evenings: With the days getting shorter, visibility drops quickly. If you're walking at dawn or dusk, make sure both you and your dog are wearing reflective gear or clip-on LED lights so drivers and cyclists can see you clearly.

If you suspect your dog has eaten something toxic or they seem unwell after a walk, please contact us immediately.

📞 Call 01803 324341 if on Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm

🚨 For weekend emergencies out-of-hours, call our emergency number on 07967 103178 to be connected to the on-duty clinical team.

Have a wonderful, safe weekend. 🐾

🐾 Welcome to the Quarry House Vets family, Twix! 🐾

I adopted this little lady from a local rescue centre today, and she has already got straight to work "helping" me while I work from home.

As you can see, she has completely taken over my laptop to look for our new RVN. My productivity level has officially hit zero, and a well-deserved catnap was immediately required for Twix! 😴

I am very happy to welcome Twix to the family. She might be a remote worker, but she is definitely the cutest assistant I could ask for (even if she won't let me have my computer back!) - Kat.

Ben has done it again! 🌟👨‍⚕️

We are incredibly proud to share that our fantastic new vet, Ben, has just received another 5-star review! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

When we introduced Ben a few weeks ago, we knew he was going to be a perfect fit for our team, and we are delighted to see that our wonderful clients and patients agree. Bringing your pets to the vet requires a lot of trust, and seeing Ben earn that trust so quickly is just amazing. 🐾❤️

As an independent, vet-owned practice, these moments mean everything to us. A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share their experiences!

If you’ve visited Ben or any of our dedicated team recently, we would be so grateful if you could spare a moment to leave us a Google review. It truly helps our small practice thrive: https://g.page/r/Cd90oAR6wv_aEBM/review

👋🏻👋🏻 Wishing Carlo and family a Wonderful New Chapter! 🐾

Last week, we said goodbye to our wonderful Vet, Carlo, who has set off on an exciting new adventure. 🥳

Carlo, his partner Kassandra and their son Luca are relocating to Norway to be alongside Kassandra's family. 💞

Carlo has a long history with us and has been an invaluable part of our team over the years. He first joined our team back in 2017. Then, after a short period away, in which he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery and split his veterinary work between the UK and Italy; we were delighted to welcome him back home to us in March 2023.

Carlo, your dedication, surgical skills, and warmth will be greatly missed by our team, our clients, and all the pets you’ve cared for. 🐾

Thank you for everything, Carlo! We wish you, Kassandra, and little Luca the absolute best of luck with the big move and your new life in Norway. Lykke til! 🥂✨

We are absolutely delighted by this incredible review that we have received 🥰🤩 and what better way to introduce you all to our fantastic new Vet, Ben.

Ben officially joined the practice this month, but you may have seen him before! He actually did a couple of EMS placements with us over the last few years during his training. He is already fitting right in and is enjoying getting to know all of our wonderful patients and clients. 👨‍⚕️🐕

As an independent, vet-owned practice, your kind words mean everything to us. If you’ve seen Ben or any of our team recently and could spare a moment to leave us a Google review, it would be appreciated: https://g.page/r/Cd90oAR6wv_aEBM/review
