A big welcome to Billy, the gorgeous Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and Bailey, the adorable Chihuahua x Jack Russell! 🐶🐶

These two are settling into country life beautifully and are already enjoying all the lovely sights, sounds and smells that the countryside has to offer! 🌳🐾

I’m looking forward to getting to know them both and enjoying lots of lovely walks, adventures and cuddles along the way. 🥰

It’s been a little while since I posted, so I thought it was time for a little update ❤️

Life has been a lot lately, and after losing my beautiful Willow, I’ve needed some time to just slow down, breathe and heal. I don’t think you ever really know how much a loss is going to affect you until you’re living through it, and I’ve definitely needed some quiet time to process everything. 🐾🌈

I’ve been spending lots of time with my boy Floyd, making the most of our time together, getting out and about when we can, and trying to focus on the little things that make us happy. ❤️ He’s been such a comfort to me, and I’m so grateful to still have my gorgeous old boy by my side.

Life has also been busy in general, so social media has definitely taken a back seat for a while! But I’ve got SO many photos that I’ve taken over the last few months and I’m finally ready to start sharing them with you. 📸🥰

There have been some lovely moments, some difficult ones, lots of adventures, plenty of doggy cuddles and, of course, lots of memories being made.

Thank you to everyone who sent messages, checked in on me and gave me so much kindness after losing Willow. It honestly meant more than you know. ❤️

So… I’m back! 🥰
Expect lots of photos, lots of Floyd, a few adventures and plenty of catching up!

You may have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet lately. Yesterday I had to make the most heartbreaking decision of my life and say goodbye to my best friend, my beautiful Willow. 💔🐾

Willow came into my life at a time when I was struggling more than anyone knew. She pulled me through some of my darkest days and gave me a reason to get up, to go outside, to smile again. She wasn’t “just a dog” she was my soulmate, my shadow, my little angel.👼🏼

She followed me everywhere, even to the toilet, curled up beside me in bed every night, and greeted me with that wagging tail. I’ll miss her cuddles more than words can ever say.

Today we laid her to rest beneath a willow tree – her namesake.

Im incredibly proud of my little family. This weekend has been one of the most painful weekends we’ve ever faced, but we came together for Willow. She was surrounded by love right until the very end ❤️

The pain is beyond anything I can describe. My heart feels completely broken.

Run free now, my beautiful girl. No more pain. Go and find Grandad, chase all the sticks you can carry, steal all the socks you like, and wait for me.

Thank you for choosing me to be your mummy. Loving you was the greatest privilege of my life, and I will love you for the rest of mine.

Forever my shadow. Forever my angel. Forever my Willow. 🌈🐾❤️

Remember 🥵

🐾 Plenty of fresh water available all day
🐾 Walk early morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler
🐾 Check the pavement with your hand, if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws
🐾 Make sure they’ve got shade and somewhere cool to lie down
🐾 Never leave dogs in a car, even for a few minutes
🐾 Keep an eye out for signs of overheating, excessive panting, drooling, tiredness or seeming distressed

With temperatures forecast to reach around 31–32°C next week, I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up regarding walks.

Unfortunately, by early evening it’s still expected to be around 23°C+, and with me being a solo walker, I can only safely walk dogs one at a time. This means I won’t be able to move lots of walks into the very early morning or late evening as I normally would.

The welfare and safety of the dogs always comes first, and in these temperatures walks may need to be shortened, rearranged, or cancelled where necessary. I will still be available for pop-ins, toilet breaks, feeding, company visits and keeping your pups comfortable while you’re out.

Thank you all for understanding, I’d always rather disappoint humans than put dogs at risk in extreme heat 🐾❤️

Just wanted to put a little update on here and explain why I’ve been a bit slower replying to messages recently or a bit distracted.

Over the last few days I’ve had quite a stressful time with Willow. She suddenly became lame after running around and we ended up at the emergency vet late at night. Initially they were concerned it could possibly be a cruciate ligament injury, which understandably sent me into a bit of a panic, especially after discussions around scans, surgery and all the possible outcomes.

She’s since had X-rays and thankfully it doesn’t appear to be her ligament. The vet thinks her kneecap is popping in and out, which explains the funny movement in her leg and why she was having those odd moments where it seemed to flick out to the side.

She’s currently on anti-inflammatory medication and strict rest with short lead walks while we see how she does over the next few weeks.

It’s been a pretty emotional few days with emergency vet visits, worry, lack of sleep and trying to work around everything, so if I’ve been slower replying than normal or a bit absent, that’s why.

Thank you to everyone who has checked in, offered advice and been kind and thank you to those ive had to cancel at short notice. Willow means the world to me and hopefully now we’re heading in the right direction ❤️🐾

🌧️🐾 More Cases of Gastroenteritis in Dogs

We’re currently seeing an increase in dogs with gastroenteritis, causing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, reduced appetite, and lethargy.

This can be more common after periods of heavy rainfall following a long dry spell, as bacteria, parasites, and other contaminants can be washed into puddles and standing water that dogs may drink from or play in.

To help reduce the risk:
💧 Avoid letting your dog drink from puddles or stagnant water
🐾 Wash muddy paws and dirty coats after walks
🚶 Take fresh water with you on walks
