A little break from learning for these two puppies in class… or is it?🤔
Dogs learn from each other too. Positive social interactions are a vital part of development, and these two are a great example. They're matching each other's play style, responding to each other's cues, and enjoying a lovely, mutually consensual play session 🐾

Working on teaching our dogs to remain steady and responsive when passing through entrances and exits 👍
Key goals are:
Our dog doesn't rush through openings.✅️
Our dog checks in with us.✅️
Our dog remains stead with a wait cue.✅️
Our dog responds to a release cue.✅️

The behavior then generalizes to any door, gate, vehicle door, crate door, or kennel gate for their safety 🐾

Working on focus and reward! Think of this like eat your dinner you can have your pudding 🤔 Focus on some simple cues, go get your favorite toy because rewards dont always have to food treats, there is huge power in play 🐾

So lovely to have three of my Trusty Paws Dog Training dogs at the hoopers taster session last week 💖 Here is Lily loving the final course!

Do you have a budding young Dog Trainer at home?
There is nothing better than seeing a young person learning together with their dog. The bond this develops between dog and young handler is really something so special 💕
Inspired by the wonderful young handlers we have coming along to our current Trusty Paws Dog Training classes I am excited to share that there will be a class especially for young handlers and their dogs starting in Weald on Thursday evenings at 5pm. Run by Sally Brown, qualified primary school teacher & senco and dog lover!
