NOVEMBER & DECEMBER APPOINTMENTS 🐾

I don’t want to say the C word… but Christmas is approaching fast and I’m getting booked up by the day! 🎄

I have very limited spaces left for November and December, so if you’re wanting your dogs groomed before Christmas, I’d recommend getting booked in within the next couple of weeks to avoid disappointment.

I’ll be taking a few days off before Christmas to get everything organised and enjoy some time with friends, family and, of course, my own dogs🐶, so I won’t be adding any extra appointments once my diary is full!

So please don’t leave it until the last minute if you want to get your doggies in before the festivities!

✨ Before & After: Spaniel Handstripping ✨

Did you know that spaying or neutering can sometimes change a Spaniel’s coat? 🐶

Hormonal changes can cause the coat to become softer, fluffier and woollier, often with an excess of dead coat that can be difficult to manage. This is commonly known as spay coat.

Clipping is often the go-to option for these coats, as the texture can make traditional grooming more challenging. However, in some cases, handstripping can be a fantastic alternative! ✂️

By carefully removing the dead coat, we can encourage the healthier coat underneath to come through, helping to restore a more natural texture and bring the coat closer to its original condition. Every coat is different, and handstripping isn’t suitable for every dog, but when the coat allows, the results can be lovely! 🤍

A huge thank you to everyone who has booked in and kept me so wonderfully busy. I really do appreciate every single one of you! 🥰

Just a little reminder that I’ll be away from 10th to 17th September for some much needed TLC and a little recharge. 😌

Please remember to book your next appointment in person after your pet’s appointment wherever possible. This is the best way to guarantee your preferred slot and keep your pet on a regular schedule. It also reduces my admin time in half, which means more time spent doing what I love, looking after your lovely dogs! 🐾 ✂️

Please note that my cancellation list is now completely full, so unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend relying on a cancellation becoming available. The only guaranteed way to secure an appointment is to book in advance.

Nothing beats a show Cocker hand strip. 🫶🏻

This appointment was just under two hours, and I’m so pleased with how much we managed to achieve in that time. What a transformation!

Cockers are certainly high maintenance, and grooms like this are most commonly seen in show homes. However, with owners who are committed to regular appointments and the right coat care between visits, pet Cockers can look just as wonderful too. 🤍

🚨 “My groomer was wrong for shaving my dog!” 🚨

I hear this all the time… “But I brush him every day!” 🪮

Many owners do brush their dogs, but unfortunately the brush doesn’t always reach right down to the skin. Especially in crossbreeds, the mixture of two coat types doesn’t always mix well and the undercoat can become tightly matted and pelted like a little sheep! 🐑

At that stage, shaving isn’t cruel or lazy… it’s often the kindest and safest option for your dog. ❤️

As long as you take our advice and work with us, we can help keep your dog’s coat healthy, comfortable and mat-free.

And the good news? It will grow back like weeds anyway! 🌱🐾
