💜 A BITTERSWEET FAREWELL TO OUR LOVELY ANYA 💜

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce our lovely Anya will be leaving Pretty Pawsome at the end of October 🥺

We would have much preferred to speak to everyone personally, but with so many of you and such a short time before Anya leaves, we wanted to share the news with you all here 🙏🏼

Anya has been part of our journey since we first opened our salon doors in 2019, when she was just 16! She started as our Saturday girl and worked her way up to become our Salon Supervisor, my right-hand girl and an integral part of the PP family 💜

Over the past 7 years, she’s helped us grow, held the fort at the salon and supported our apprentices. She’s a fantastic groomer, a wonderful dog lady and has built so many lovely relationships with our customers and their pooches. We’ll miss her, and of course, Oakley too! 🐾🤎

Anya is now looking to grow her passion for content creation through her page, AnyaInTheWild, sharing her love of the outdoors and exploring 🌿 We wish her every success in this next chapter!

Thank you, Anya, for everything you’ve given to Pretty Pawsome over the years. The laughs, the tears and the countless failed sayings 😂 You’ll be leaving a very big hole in our team, and we’re so grateful to have been part of your journey 💜

December appointments are already limited, so please don’t leave it too late to secure your usual slot.

Lottie’s little oral hygiene experiment 🦷🐾

After recently having a tooth removed, our vet recommended we try Protexin PlaqEase to help support Lottie’s oral hygiene going forward.

So… we thought we’d document it! 👀

We know SO many of our PP owners struggle with their pooches’ teeth, especially when brushing and toothpaste just isn’t happening 😂 so I’m really interested to see whether we notice a difference.

We’ve taken our before pictures 📸 and we’ll keep you updated with Lottie’s progress!

Just to be clear, this isn’t an ad or a PP recommendation. It’s simply something recommended for Lottie by our vet that we’ve purchased ourselves and are trying at home. Please speak to your own vet before introducing any new dental or oral health products 💜

🐾 PRETTY PAWSOME GROOMING TIP 🐾

Please try not to feed your dog a full meal within 2–3 hours of their grooming appointment 🐶🍽️

Grooming involves lots of standing, moving, handling & repositioning, and a full tummy can make some dogs feel uncomfortable or nauseous, particularly in this heat!

Allowing time for food to settle & digest before grooming can help keep them more comfortable, especially if they find any part of the grooming process stressful

We’re also mindful of the risk of bloat & gastric torsion (a twisted stomach), so avoiding a large meal immediately before grooming is a sensible precaution. We would hate for any furcut to turn into a visit to the vets 😔

This is a Pawsome tip to follow all year round, but with the current heatwave ☀️ it’s particularly important. Whilst we’re taking every precaution to provide a safe grooming environment, vomiting & added stress can increase the risk of a dog becoming distressed or overheating.

*Where possible, please leave 2–3 hours between a full meal and your dog’s groom!*

If your dog becomes unwell or vomits during their appointment & we feel it’s in their best interests for the groom to come to an end, we will stop the groom & contact you to arrange collection.

As always, your dog’s health, comfort & welfare will always come before finishing a groom
