A super session for B today. She was anxious when she arrived, but we gave her plenty of time. I offered some pain-relieving and anxiety-reducing essential oils to help her feel calm before settling her up on a chair for her acupuncture.

🐾❤️A post about the end of life chapter and people’s judgements from outside….i feel I need to write this post as I obviously treat a lot of senior dogs and outside judgements and opinions are really hard for owners. As an owner of a dog(Henry) who is the final chapter of his life it’s personal too. When a dog reaches the end of their life, their owners who love them see EVERYTHING-the quality of life moments (like them still loving their walks and food)and then the struggles (like pacing and mobility difficulties)-the consent questioning, worry and doing everything you can to help them… and then you get outsiders who see a single moment and think they know the full story, make insensitive comments from a place of limited information and zero responsibility…..end of life decisions are not made from a single moment but EVERY MOMENT. So if you are caring for an elderly dog right now please hear this: you are doing your best. You are doing it with love ❤️ and you do not owe anyone an explanation. Your dog trusts you! And that’s all that matters 🥰🐾

One of the loveliest parts of our home consultation room is the peaceful garden view filled with wild flowers 🌿💐

We know vet visits can feel stressful for some dogs, so we’ve created a calm, relaxed environment where they can truly feel at ease. If your dog wants to wander out into the garden for a sniff, stretch, or little explore during the consultation — they absolutely can 🐾

Many of our visitors love having the freedom to come and go between the consultation room and the garden, helping them settle naturally in their own time.

A gentler, quieter experience with fresh air, birdsong, and plenty of wild flowers — just the way it should be ✨

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest moments a family can face. 🤍

As part of my in-home gentle pet euthanasia visits, I include keepsakes if they feel right for you — ink paw prints, clay paw prints, nose prints, and fur clippings.

Some families choose to use the paw prints for tattoos, and I’m always happy to make as many prints as you’d like. Others have the prints scaled down and etched onto jewellery, framed for the home, or tucked into a favourite book as a bookmark.

Often, keepsakes are shared with the people who loved your pet too — dog walkers, groomers, cat sitters, close friends, and extended family members.

And sometimes, families choose not to have any keepsakes at all. That is equally beautiful. Love and memories do not need to be held in your hands to be carried forever. 🐾✨

At euthanasia visits, I empathetically take on some of the big emotions. I always try to spend some time walking in nature afterwards to help reset my nervous system.

This pair of dogs both enjoy coming to see me once a month. The older one is relaxing after her acupuncture and essential oil session. The younger one comes along for the chat. They both enjoy a sniff around in my garden before and after their session.
