☀️🐾 **Heat Stroke Can Be Fatal – Know the Signs!** 🐾☀️

Dogs can overheat quickly in warm weather. Because they rely on panting to cool down, heat stroke can become an emergency in minutes.

🚨 Watch for:
• Excessive panting
• Weakness or collapse
• Thick drool
• High temperature
• Disorientation or seizures

💙 Help keep your dog safe:
✔️ Fresh water always
✔️ Plenty of shade
✔️ Walk during cooler times of the day
✔️ Never leave your dog in a parked car

If you suspect heat stroke, move your dog to a cool area and contact your veterinarian immediately.

A little prevention can save a life. ❤️

Can we use the power of facebook,
One of our staff found some Bank Cards in the Derby Road West car park in Cleveleys , behind the social club.

Looking for a Mrs P Wright. We have them safe here,
Think she works for tesco too.
Hopefully we can reunite. Or at least put her mind at rest.

Please share widely.

All of our thoughts and prayers go out to all those involved in the incident last evening in the sea just in front of the surgery.

We are in awe of the incredibly brave coastguard personnel involved.

Meet Attila — our wonderful locum vet from Hungary, who joins us from time to time and has helped so many of our patients over the years 🩺🐾

You might be surprised to hear that Attila didn’t actually grow up with animals! It wasn’t until he discovered the books of James Herriot that he knew Veterinary life was for him. As Attila puts it:

“Well, you can blame the Scots… the first time I read James Herriot’s books, I knew that was the life I wanted to live.”

Since then, Attila has treated an incredible variety of animals and species — including dolphins, sea otters, skunks, alpacas, Arctic foxes, chameleons, and many more! 🐬🦦🦙🦊

When asked about his favourite Veterinary memory, Attila shared this story:

“Once I was called out to treat some Highland cows in the Outer Hebrides. I drove through snow-covered peaks to a breach beside the Atlantic Ocean. While chasing the cows, I could feel the sea breeze and admire the beautiful sandy beach.”

We always love having Attila visit the practice, and he loves catching up with all the little friends he helps while he’s here ❤️
