A friend sent me this. Me my sister Claire and friends did this. I wish children could do this know but unfortunately the roads are too busy. We certainly would have a ban if we had number plates on our ponies. 👮
We used to gallops across Paddys park in Ripon , jump the log into the car park jump, off the wall on to the road. Absolutely so naught but a brilliant childhood and we were riders 🤣🐎🤣
🐴 IF OUR CHILDHOOD PONIES HAD NUMBER PLATES, HOW MANY OF US WOULD HAVE ENDED UP WITH POINTS ON OUR LICENCE? 😂
There was a time when being 11 years old, having a pony and a few equally questionable friends was apparently all the supervision you needed.
We’d disappear for hours…..
Hacking miles from the yard, riding one and leading two, jumping anything that vaguely resembled a fence, racing across fields and occasionally getting completely lost.
No mobile phones📵 No GPS. No tracking apps.
Our parents had absolutely no idea where we were, and quite frankly, neither did we half the time. 😂
We’d return at some point, usually starving, filthy and with a story that definitely didn’t include everything we’d been up to.
And somehow, we’d be straight back out again the next morning.🌅
Different times. Different freedoms. And some absolutely legendary ponies who deserve medals for putting up with us. 🥇
What was the most outrageous thing YOU got up to with your pony as a child? 👀 🤔
We’re expecting some stories that would give today’s riding instructors a nervous breakdown. 😂 😳
