I’ve just had an amazing 2 weeks with these gorgeous boy and girls. For anyone who knows me they’ll know how much I love these breeds!! They have such wonderful natures and so gentle. I love pretty much all breeds but lurcher/greyhound types have a special place in my heart after years of working with them in a rescue/rehoming centre ♥️
My house feels quite empty now 😢 not for long though 🐶 😁

This is so true! We can never win with this weather. The heat is becoming increasingly hotter and for longer periods. Thank you to all those I have messaged and for understanding the reason for me cancelling walks next week.
Yes it means I lose virtually all my income, yes it means life gets a little tougher for a while but I will never put money above the health and life of your dog/s. It really isn’t worth it and I will always put safety first.
Next time you hear me moan about the rain though. Feel free to slap me 😂

Over the last couple of weeks we have welcomed and said ta ta for now to these 3 beautiful girls.

We have thoroughly loved having them all, they have all been so well behaved and got on well together.

I am so lucky to genuinely say I absolutely love my job!! I have never had a “proper” job. Almost all my life I have worked with animals of some sort and loved them all. Not all have loved me 😂

We have some exciting times coming up, that will be revealed once things progress a little more but so far this year has been a mostly positive one 🐶

Stolen from another page but so important to be aware of how the heat affects our dogs.

With the temperatures set to sore over the next few days please don’t be stupid and risk your dogs life!!

DO.. early mornings walks, later evening walks, (once paths have had a chance to cool).

Make sure your dogs have plenty of access to cool fresh water at all times.

Keep them out of the heat during the hottest parts of the day.

Enrichment is a great way of entertaining your dogs during the hot weather instead of a walk.

DO NOT… walk your dog/s during the middle of the day. (I get some dogs don’t have gardens and a gentle stroll for a leg stretch and toilet break is obviously essential). But… they don’t need to be out for longer than they need.

Pavements get ridiculously hot and can burn feet, you try walking down the road without shoes on wearing a fur coat!!

Please just use your common sense and keep your dogs safe!! No dog died from missing a walk, plenty die from walking when it’s too hot 🥵

My dogs were out at 6.30am today and home with a paddling pool and frozen treats for later.

This weekend we have trialed these two beauts!! Trials are so important for both my family, the dogs families and most importantly the dogs themselves.
I learn loads about the dogs and they learn our home is a safe place. We can’t explain that to them, so we have to show them.
This was our lovely lurchers 2nd trial and she settled so much quicker this time round. Our super spaniel spent his first trial day with us. He took longer to adjust which is very normal for a first visit. It was so reassuring that he eventually curled up on my husbands knee and closed his eyes.
It’s so alien to them to begin with but we do our best to ensure they feel safe and secure and will settle down for the some important sleep time to help them process information.

If you are choosing a licensed dog home boarder please make sure they offer settling in trials for your dog/s.
FYI - Home Boarders should legally be licensed!! No license, no insurance, no limits, not inspected, no policies to keep your dogs safe!

What a wonderful time we’ve had looking after this gorgeous girl for the last couple of weeks while her family spent some time away.
As an older lady our calm and relaxed home environment was a good match for her and she settled in well and has been a pleasure to take care of.
Hopefully we will see her again very soon 🐶 ♥️

New Recruit alert and omg the cuteness!! This little chap has joined us the last couple of weeks and will be building his walks up as he grows.
He’s doing amazing, making new friends and attends lots of training with the lovely Woodland Wags IMDT, which you can tell by how he behaves around other dogs already. He’s a credit to his owners and I’m honoured to be his new dog walker 🥰
