Building confidence from day one! 🐾

Meet Scout, the German Shepherd pup taking on the big world during his 1 week puppy training program. We’ve been out and about getting real-world exposure—navigating busy shops, getting comfortable around main road traffic, and mastering focus through all the noise.

Early environmental exposure builds calm, confident adult dogs. Scout is proving to be an absolute superstar! 🌟

Patience, Progress, and Big Milestones for Pear! 🌟

Rescue life comes with its own unique timeline, and for sweet Pear, building confidence in new environments is all about celebrating the small wins that lead to big breakthroughs. 🐾✨

Pear came to us at Royvon working through some deep-seated anxiety around unfamiliar environments and unpredictable triggers. Today was a massive step forward for her! 🚆❤️

During our session near the railway, Pear stayed remarkably calm, grounded, and focused—even while watching the train pass by just a short distance away. Instead of reacting or feeling overwhelmed, she was able to look, process, and check back in with us with total composure. 🧠👏

Building real, lasting confidence isn't about pushing past fear—it's about creating positive, manageable experiences at a pace she feels safe with. Today proved just how capable and resilient Pear really is.

So proud of this beautiful girl and the journey she's on! Stay tuned for more of her progress. 🐕💪

Big warm welcome to Scout! 🐾 At just 3 months old, this German Shepherd pup is taking his very first steps in puppy training here at Royvon.

Today’s focus: building rock-solid focus on his trainer Romeo, mastering loose lead walking, and learning to stay calm and cool around passing dogs and traffic. Young GSDs are such quick learners, and Scout is already showing huge potential! 🌟

Working with this handsome boy again! 🐾

Leo the German Shepherd is a familiar face around here, coming in regularly for both training and boarding at . Today, he was back in action with his favorite trainer, Romeo, getting stuck into some basic obedience practice.

Even for a super smart breed like a Shepherd, keeping those core foundations sharp—focused heelwork, steady stays, and crisp response times—is what builds real confidence and reliability. Leo put in fantastic focus today and showed off just how much he loves learning! 🌟

🐾 Consistency is where the magic happens! 🐶✨

Jessie the Irish Terrier has been coming in regularly for training, and her progress speaks for itself! 🚀

While learning commands in a quiet room is a great start, the real test is proofing those skills in the real world. We’ve been taking Jessie’s recall and basic obedience on the road—practicing across different environments with real-world distractions like new sights, smells, and sounds. 🍃🐕

Building a rock-solid recall takes time, repetition, and clear engagement, but Jessie’s focus and enthusiasm make every session a blast. High-drive, intelligent breeds like Irish Terriers thrive when challenged, and watching her choice-making improve in distracting spaces is super rewarding! 🙌

What’s your dog’s favorite high-value reward when practicing recall outdoors? Drop it in the comments below! 👇

Too Friendly, Too Mouthy… Meet Brody!

Brody, a 5-month-old Bernadoodle, joined us for a 5-week residential programme with plenty of energy and enthusiasm! 🐶 He loved saying hello to everyone—but pulling towards people and dogs, getting distracted easily, and being a little too mouthy made everyday life challenging.

His training focused on engagement, recall, loose-lead walking, basic obedience, settling, and learning to keep those teeth to himself! 🐾

✔️ Better engagement around distractions
✔️ Improved recall
✔️ Loose-lead walking
✔️ Learning to settle
✔️ More polite interactions

A friendly pup learning that he doesn’t need to say hello to everyone! 🤍

Building confidence one paw at a time. 🐾✨

When Max the Border Collie first came to Royvon, the hustle and bustle of everyday life was a lot to process. People and passing traffic felt overwhelming, and walking down a busy street just wasn’t fun for him.

After a few dedicated weeks of structured training, positive reinforcement, and building trust, look at him now! Max is happily strolling past shops and trotting along main roads, completely unfazed by passing cars.

Seeing a dog transform from anxious to calm and confident is why we do what we do. Super proud of you, Max! 💙

In 1959, a husband and wife — Roy and Yvonne James — turned their shared love of dogs into something extraordinary.

From a small home in Merthyr Tydfil, they built Royvon, a place where dogs were trained with patience, care, and understanding — long before “force-free” was a familiar phrase.

Today, 31 years since Yvonne passed, her legacy still shapes everything we do.
Every happy reunion, every wagging tail, every family who finds joy again with their dog — it all began with their belief that love and learning go paw in paw.

Thank you, Roy and Yvonne, for starting something that still changes lives.

Tails wagging since 1959. 🐾💛

We love dogs, you love your dog, your dog loves you.

That's why we treat dogs with respect and why we never use force. Pain doesn't teach behaviours, it teaches reactions. If you are exploring dog training options, whether you select Royvon or not, please consider the harm that force-led or 'balanced dog training' can do to your dog's trust and self-esteem.

Weekend mornings hit different!

For humans it might mean a relaxed coffee, sport clubs, the weekend papers or simply a lie-in. For dogs, the routine changes too, from their beloved owners being around more, to walks in new places. New smells, new friends and more time for fun and affection make weekends exciting but exhausting!

If your dog's training needs are most obvious when you are at home over the weekend and you would like to explore our training options, we are still open, you can contact us via email or WhatsApp at the link in bio, or book a call through your online account at royvon.co.uk
