☀️🐾 Hot Days Are Here — Keep Your Dog Safe! 🐾☀️
As the weather warms up in Gloucestershire, we’re making sure every pup stays cool, comfy, and safe during their groom. Hot days can sneak up on dogs quickly, and heatstroke is a real risk — especially for flat‑faced breeds, older dogs, puppies, and dogs with health conditions.
🚨 Signs of Heatstroke to Watch For:
- Heavy or rapid panting
- Excessive drooling
- Wobbliness or confusion
- Vomiting or diarrhoea
- Bright red gums or tongue
- Collapse
If you spot *any* of these signs, I’ll stop immediately, move your dog somewhere cool, offer small sips of water, and *contact a vet ASAP*. Heatstroke is an emergency.
🌡️ How We Keep Grooms Safe:
- Groom in cooler times of day and inside
- Plenty of water breaks
- Paw checks — no hot pavements when they need a break outside
- Lots of breaks and health checks
- The hair drier can make them overheat so this might mean damp dogs at the end of the groom
Your dog’s wellbeing always comes first. If it’s too hot, we’ll work with your dogs or rearrange! 🐶
