**HORSEMANSHIP FESTIVAL**
Last weekend Breadstone Vet Alex Wood attended the Great British Festival of Horsemanship at Hartpury College. Alex (pictured here with the lovely demo horse 'Alan' ) gave a training session on working with needle shy horses, with a Q&A session afterwards. She had a great time meeting lots of lovely people and also found time to watch some of the inspiring demonstrations throughout the day!

Alex has a wealth of veterinary knowledge and is known for her kind, calm and reassuring nature. **GASTROSCOPE CLINIC- WILLESLEY**

Signs of gastric ulceration can include inappetance, poor weight, girthy behaviour, bucking, stopping at jumps, discomfort when mounting, resentment of grooming and subtle poor performance.

**CELEBRATING 40 YEARS!**
Today we say a huge congratulations and thank you to Sandra Kee at the Breadstone branch who celebrates 40 years with B&W today 🎉
Sandra joined when the clinic was first founded by Ian Camm as Bushy Equine Vets, working in any and every role that was required of her- from vet support to receptionist and everything in between and over the years as the practice has expanded she has been an invaluable source of knowledge and support to the whole team.
These days many of you will know her for helping guide you through your insurance claims, and she can also be found supporting Ian and the rest of the vet team at events such as Cheltenham races .
We don't know how she has put up with us for all this time but are very grateful that she has!

**Equine Influenza**

Recent reports show an increase in equine influenza (flu) cases across the UK, and it spreads quickly between horses. Now is the time to stay vigilant.

How to protect your horse:

💉 Keep influenza vaccinations up to date – this is your best defence. If your horse has not been vaccinated within the last 6 months you can give a booster to increase immunity to the influenza virus
🐴 Avoid mixing with horses of unknown vaccination status
☣ Isolate any new arrivals
🥣 Don’t share equipment (buckets, tack, grooming kits)
🫱 Practice good hygiene – wash hands and disinfect regularly
🤒 Monitor for signs: cough, nasal discharge, fever, lethargy

⚠️ If you suspect flu: Contact your vet immediately and isolate the horse to prevent spread.

Equine flu is highly contagious, but with good biosecurity and vaccination, we can limit outbreaks and keep our horses safe 💙
