Today we say goodbye to Michael who is off to start the next exciting chapter in his life. After some exceptional A-Level results he's off to study history at Warwick Uni! 🎓

Michael started with us 3 years ago when he was just 15 (swipe to see!) He was a quiet but very polite kid, and was so kind and gentle with the dogs in the shop. Fast forward 3 years and he still has that lovely kind heart, but has now grown into a confident young man who is going to absolutely smash it at uni!

Thank you for everything, Michael. It's been a pleasure and a privilege working with you and I can't wait to hear all of your uni stories! 🐾😁

📢 TRACTORFEST 2026!!! 📢

Are you coming? We'll be there on Saturday and Sunday with plenty of treats, toys, and accessories, plus our have-a-go nosework area, our paddling pool for a cooling dip, and FREE pup cups! 😁

Last year some of our lovely customers struggled to find us so hopefully this little map will help! Basically we're smack bang opposite the tractor field so come and see those big fellas and you won't miss us! 🚜

Biddenden Tractorfest runs on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August from 10-5pm. I think there's still tickets left which are really reasonably priced and it'll be a nice day out after the super hot weather we're about to have ☀️

When a dog wags its tail what does it mean? 🐶

Often we think it means the dog is expressing happiness and whilst that is often true it's not the end of the story.

Perhaps instead of thinking about a tail 'wag' (because we've been conditioned to think that the word wag = positive emotions) we should rather think about tail 'movement'.

Tail movements vary widely between breeds but the individual dogs themselves have a range of different movements to express different emotions. Your dog might communicate complete joy, happiness, uncertainty, concentration, anxiety, fear, or anger through different tail movements. Probably more too!

In addition to this body language signals should never be read in isolation, and instead the whole dog should be assessed when trying to understand what they are communicating.

(I don't just own a pet shop... I'm also a dog trainer, qualified hydrotherapist, and have worked with dogs for over 15 years. Feel free to pop in to chat about your dog 🥰)

🪥 INTRODUCING OUR NEW MONTHLY TEETH CLEANING PLAN! 🪥

Little and often beats occasional and intensive every time when it comes to your dog's dental health. Regular teeth cleaning is one of the single most effective things you can do for your dog's oral care.

That's why we've launched our new monthly maintenance plan to help you keep your dog's teeth clean, healthy and fresh all year round.

Perfect for dogs who have recently had a veterinary dental procedure, dogs with healthy teeth who want to keep them that way, and dogs who find longer sessions tricky or stressful.

For just £12 a session you get:
✨ A 15 minute Emmi Pet ultrasound clean
✨ Monthly maintenance keeping teeth in top top condition
✨ Less stress for your dog - 15 mins is quick, gentle and easy for them to cope with
✨ Peace of mind that you're doing your best for your dog's oral health

Sessions take place on Saturdays and Sundays by appointment only.
New dogs require an initial consultation first (£40) - just message me for details.

Spaces are limited! DM me to book in!

Please note that Emmi Pet sessions are not a substitute for veterinary dental care. We always recommend regular vet check ups to keep your dog's teeth in top condition.

For best results, combine our monthly maintenance plan with regular at-home care. We can discuss options available and recommend something suitable for your dog and lifestyle.

Ts&Cs apply.
