We are so glad to see June, and we will be so glad to see some summer sun ☀️ - anytime now would be great! We've had enough of the rain.

We've had a rough week with wee Lola, we had some lovely visitors in the past few weeks just prior to her getting poorly, and now we are very much looking forward to a quiet weekend to rest, recover and catch up on a little sleep 🙏🏼

Thank you to everyone who has messaged and asked after Lola, it's all very much appreciated. And thank you to everyone for a little flexibility this week, with vet trips and needing to keep the house chilled we've been a bit all over the place 🙈

We don't know what the next few months hold with Lola, we're very much taking each day as it comes. She has the odd hour where she seems ok, then takes a wee turn for the worse. We may have reduced availability for last minute requests and for daycare, but we will keep in touch and will help everyone out where we can - we would ask that anyone booked in for home boarding has their emergency contact up-to-date, hopefully we won't need to cancel anyone or make any calls, it would always be a last resort, but it's better to have a back-up - this week has reminded us that you just never know what's round the corner and sometimes you just need to bunker down in the bubble and protect and prioritise the poorly ones.

Our Lola has seen me through many hard times, she's my wee comfort blanket and has an intuition for when I need a cuddle. It's my turn to reciprocate that for her. I know you all understand how important my doggies are to me, because all my clients see their dogs the same way - Lola just needs some extra TLC for a little while. I never want to let anyone down or cancel, but thank you all for patience and understanding for this next wee while, we will keep in touch with all upcoming bookings if anything needs to change 🙏🏼

Our wee Lola ❤️ keeping us on our toes as always!

Lola has had a few wee medical problems over the past 5 years - adrenal gland tumour which needed removed, beginning of tracheal collapse, hip dysplasia, arthritis, and start of dementia 🥹

This past couple of months she has lost quite a lot of weight very rapidly. Blood tests came back all clear. The vets advised to monitor the situation - she's in good form, sleeps a lot, but she's nearly 13 and that's her normal. She's eating well, going to the toilet normally, but her breathing has become a bit erratic this past week or two and after another vet check (they never see the back of me 🙈) they agreed to sedate her to do some scans.

They removed the big tumour under her elbow, and have sent her home with some new meds for an enlarged heart. The enlarged heart from a mitral valve deterioration is combining with the tracheal collapse, and we have to carefully manage that with medication and minimising her excitement levels and anxiety/stress.

We've always asked people to please give us arrival and pick-up times - not just to help with our own scheduling of our day, but also to be able to get Lola into a calm place before the door knocks or the doorbell rings - she is like many dogs and gets overly excited to see people come into the house, but this can now literally stop her breathing. So we need to manage her stress as best we possibly can.

We've got a bit lackadaisical with this lately, because we don't have many visitors other than our regulars, who tend to text us to give a 'we are en route' message. I don't like to be strict, but for Lola's sake, we need to manage arrivals and departures, so we would really appreciate the heads-up for being almost-here - it just gives us a few minutes to get the dogs into the kitchen, calm, distracted and basically not giving Lola a heart attack!

Thank you to everyone for understanding, it's not meant to cause offense to anyone, we welcome visitors, we just need to be prepared for people arriving to minimise the chaos when the dogs get excited at somebody on the doorstep 🙏🏼

Staying cool in the Bank Holiday sunshine ☀️

Fans are on, cool mats are out, water sprinkler is running, and we're taking nice leisurely evening strolls when it cools down. We are in the process of making a few improvements to the back garden and entering busy season for home boarding, and for the kids! With school winding down ready for summer, their social lives are busier, which means our availability for services is reduced, as we seem to exist to chauffeur Chloe and Charlie 🚕

A few important pieces of information regarding services - our availability for the rest of 2026 is extremely limited due to regulars already being booked in. Our availability for 2027 will be reduced as we will be taking more time off. We are finally finding our way to getting a good balance between the family and the business, and trying our very best to enjoy our retirement and spend time with the kids. We do love seeing our wee dog mates though, so we will do our best to work with everyone so that all of our regulars can be accommodated as often as possible 🐾

We have had a lovely few weeks with very cute company.

Busy time of year as everyone is heading off on their summer holidays, we are very lucky to be booked up with our lovely regular clients - unfortunately we are unable to take on any new clients at this time.

We've been getting lots of enquiries about 2027, so I will be starting to take enquiries from regulars to pencil in some dates - please note that our availability for next year will be even more limited than it already is - send me a WhatsApp message with dates and we will see what we can do.

John and I plan to take the school holidays off with the kids, and also some extra days where we can enjoy our retirement together - we don't tend to get much free time, and this year we've had so much going on with health that it's been fine to stay home and revolve our world around the dogs, but hopefully with new treatment regime, we can start to get out and about more 🤞🏼

Please do send requests through as soon as you have them - we hate to say no, but we simply can't say yes to all. Please also be mindful of sticking to planned drop off and pick up times - our free time is valuable time with the kids. We don't have cancellation fees, if you don't need us please do cancel and we will enjoy time off instead, and give as much notice as possible so that we can make alternative plans for our family 🙏🏼

Update from March 🐾

We were absolutely gutted to receive the phone call to say that wee Max had passed away. Max and his sister Zola are regulars for home boarding here, we have had so many fun times with them, and Max was such a wee gentleman. He had reached a great age and was still very full of personality and loved his cuddles and snuggles, but his wee body had just got tired. We truly loved this wee man, I cry every time I think of him, he inspired our love for JRTs and the bond we had made with him was very special (especially him and our Charlie). Great wee dog, company we always looked forward to, and a beloved guest that we will very much miss. We are so very sorry for his lovely owners, Glenn and Niamh, we know how much he meant to you both, and he had an amazing life with you both. Thank you for trusting us with your precious wee man over the past few years ❤️💔

We had visits from our regulars before we went on holiday, and we met little Miss Heidi, sister of handsome little Hamish, who will be coming to us with her big bro 🥰

We got back from Orlando yesterday and we were so glad to see Bobby and Lola, we really missed them when we were away. It's such a relief to know they are in safe hands when we are gone, thank you to Katie and Emma for caring for them in our home, a good petsitter is very hard to find and worth their weight in gold 🤩

Busy few months ahead with home boarding and a couple of little daycare regulars. We don't really have any availability for new dogs right now as most available dates are already doubled up. We've been in business for 3 years now and have the best clients, we are so very grateful for the trust you all place in us, and so very thankful to have the company of all these amazing dogs.

(Insurance renewal update in highlights for peace of mind)

February is ending, spring is blooming, blue skies are appearing, and our moods are definitely lifting 💙

It was a very sad start to the month, with the devastating passing of big Ollie, our handsome friend who we absolutely loved to visit. We are so very sorry for Ollie's devoted and loving family, who gave him the absolute best life he ever could have wished for. Loved and cherished to the very end. We think of him often, such a gentle soul, a real joy to be around and hugely missed 💔 we are very grateful to have been a small part of Ollie's world, and thankful to his family and Murphy's family for introducing us to him a couple of years ago. Run free beautiful boy 🌈💔

We took a much needed break away for family time with the kids, Edinburgh was beautiful and we stopped by the Pug Cafe which lifted our spirits.

Our days have changed a little this month - as we plan around John's work shifts it meant we had to stop a few of our pet visits - we do miss our little friends, but know they have 'graduated' to fun group walks and made new pals, thanks to K9 Walker and KC Pet Care who kindly welcomed our buddies into their gangs.

The usual lovely little visitors to our home, for sleepovers or daycare. We're pretty much at full capacity in terms of our client list, we do have a couple of meet & greets to get scheduled in for later in the year, and look forward to seeing all of our regulars as holiday season starts to kick off.

As always, please do message as soon as you know any dates that are needed, as many of our weeks are blocked out already. And if you are waiting on a reply or confirmation from me, please send me a message to remind me - old age gets the better of me sometimes and in my head I may have replied, but in reality I may have forgot to hit send 🤦🏼‍♀️
