GIANT DAY GECKO 🦎

Scientific name: Phelsuma grandis
Common name: Giant Day Gecko
Native to: Madagascar 🇲🇬
Habitat: Tropical forests & warm, humid areas 🌴
Size: 20–30 cm long 📏
Lifespan: Around 10–15 years ⏳
Diet: Insects, fruit, nectar & small invertebrates 🍓🦗
Active: During the daytime ☀️
Colour: Bright green with red or orange markings 💚❤️
Special feature: Sticky toe pads help it climb smooth surfaces 🌿
Personality: Active, alert & territorial 👀

Giant day geckos can lick nectar and fruit as well as hunting insects, making them both predators and fruit-loving little pollinators! 🍯🌸

Scientific name: Boiga dendrophila annectens
Family: Colubridae
Native range: Sulawesi, Indonesia 🌿
Type: Arboreal, rear-fanged snake

🖤 Appearance
• Deep black body
• Slender, muscular body adapted for climbing
• Large eyes suited to hunting in low light
• Adults can reach roughly 1.5–2 m, although size varies

🌙 Lifestyle

Habitat: Tropical forests, mangroves, wetlands and areas near water
Activity: Primarily nocturnal 🌘
Diet: Small vertebrates such as frogs, lizards, birds and rodents
Movement: Excellent climber; spends considerable time above the ground

⚠️ Venom

This snake is rear-fanged and mildly venomous. Its venom is primarily useful for subduing prey. Bites can still be painful and medically significant, so it should not be handled.
