🐶 Meet Patch 🐶

This lovely boy has been attending regular physiotherapy sessions for the past two months to help manage osteoarthritis and address weakness and muscle loss in his right hindlimb.

His treatment so far has focused on relieving joint pain, reducing compensatory muscle tension, improving hindlimb mobility, and gradually rebuilding strength. Through a combination of red light therapy, massage, stretching, and tailored exercises, his mobility is progressing nicely and we continue to work on rebuilding hindlimb strength🧡

Patch’s favourite part of coming to physio has got to be a peanut butter lick mat and treat puzzle, which help him settle into sessions and make them a positive experience 🐾

I’m so pleased to be sponsoring a class in the Fun Dog Show today at the Shropshire County Show in support of the amazing Grinshill Animal Rescue 🐾

The dog show starts at 1pm, so if you’re visiting today make sure you come along and join in!

Please be mindful that it’s very warm today so remember to monitor your dogs carefully, ensure plenty of water, access to shade, regular rest breaks, and avoid overexertion in the heat☀️

Looking forward to seeing lots of lovely dogs and owners whilst supporting such a fantastic local rescue💚 Come and say hello if you see me there!

🚨 Not all physio treatments involve hands-on therapy… 🚨

One of the amazing pieces of equipment I commonly use during physiotherapy sessions is the Photizo Vetcare device✨

It helps to support the body’s natural healing processes by delivering a combination of red and infrared light rays that increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and provide pain-relief by stimulating the release of endorphins and serotonin 🔆

As a gentle and non-invasive treatment tool, it is extremely beneficial for conditions such as arthritis, soft tissue injuries, superficial wounds, post-surgical recovery, and more!

✨ But do you know the benefits of physiotherapy for your dog? ✨

Physiotherapy techniques aim to restore normal movement and support the body’s natural healing processes. They can help to:

• Reduce pain and muscle tension
• Improve joint range of motion and flexibility
• Restore muscle strength and function after injury or surgery
• Improve balance, coordination, and movement patterns
• Support long-term management of conditions such as osteoarthritis

By addressing the underlying causes of discomfort and restricted movement, physiotherapy helps dogs move more efficiently and maintain a better quality of life 🐕

Spring has sprung🌼

Sunny days, lighter evenings, and more time outdoors with our dogs is what we’ve all been waiting for☀️

But as activity levels increase, this is often when underlying pain, stiffness, muscle weakness, or past injuries start to show.

You might notice your dog is:
- Slowing down on walks
- Stiff after rest or exercise
- Hesitant to jump, run, or play like they used to

Small changes like these are easy to dismiss but they’re often your dog’s way of telling you something isn’t quite right.

If you’ve noticed even subtle changes in your dog’s movement or behaviour, now is the perfect time to act before it becomes a bigger problem. Physiotherapy helps prevent injury, improve strength, support mobility, and keep your dog comfortable doing what they love most 🐾

Our clinic is open and we’re welcoming new clients. Owners may be hesitant about considering physiotherapy for their dog, but hear us out ! 🐾

Dogs don’t always show pain the way we expect. It can appear as subtle changes, slowing down on walks, stiffness after rest, or reluctance to jump or play.

Canine physiotherapy helps identify the underlying movement issues, reduce pain, improve strength and mobility, and prevent small problems from becoming bigger ones. Saving you time and money in the long run.

It’s not just for injury recovery it’s about helping your dog move comfortably, stay active for longer, and maintain a better quality of life.

I know how worrying it can be when your dog isn’t moving quite right…

As a senior dog owner myself I can truly relate to how concerning it feels to watch your four-legged friend slow down or begin to struggle with daily tasks, such as going for walks or climbing stairs.

That’s why Pets Priority Vet Physio was created with the intention of providing effective, evidence-based treatments and management strategies to support your dog’s comfort and mobility, whatever their circumstances may be.

Don’t hesitate to reach out for a friendly chat about how physiotherapy can benefit your dog or to book an initial consultation 🐾
