There has been a veterinary practice in Queen Street, Wellington for over a century. The practice today is a 3-vet companion animal practice which offers a caring and professional service for your pet. The practice has achieved the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons General Practice Accreditation. We are the only independent practice in Wellington and our veterinary practice is built on mutual trust, respect, approachability and offers support, compassion and genuine care for your pet. Our whole team is ready to offer you advice to ensure that you are able to keep your pet as healthy as possible, using safe and effective preventative medicines and treatments. As a small friendly veterinary practice we are able to offer you a personal level of care and we try to ensure that you can see the veterinary surgeon of your choice, if possible.

⏰ Better late than never! 😄

Friday 9th October was Veterinary Nurse Day, and although our Facebook administrator has been a little delayed returning from Cyprus 🇨🇾☀️, we certainly haven’t forgotten to celebrate our amazing nursing team! 💚

Veterinary nurses are such an important part of every veterinary practice. They do so much more than many people realise, from assisting our vets and providing expert nursing care to supporting our patients through treatment and offering reassurance and advice to their owners. 🩺🐶🐱🐰

Their role requires a wealth of knowledge, skill, dedication and compassion, along with plenty of patience, kindness and a huge love for animals. 💚

Here at Wrekin View Vets, we are incredibly proud of our fantastic nursing team and the care they provide to our patients every single day. They truly are worth their weight in gold! 🥰🐾

🐾 Someone has certainly fallen on her paws! 🐾💚

Meet Mollie, a gorgeous 12-week-old Border Terrier who certainly knows how to make an entrance! 🐶🥰

Mollie was brought into Wrekin View Vets by our very own Steve Ashman, Veterinary Surgeon and Practice Owner, along with his wife Rebecca, to meet some of the team.

Well, as you can imagine, this little bundle of fluff stole the show! 😍 She was very much the centre of attention, receiving plenty of fuss, cuddles and admiration from us all. 💚🐾

🐾 Meet Finley! 🐾

Finley popped into Wrekin View Vets yesterday for his check-up… and while we were very pleased to see him, we’re not entirely convinced Finley felt quite the same way! 😂

After his appointment, Finley decided it was definitely time to leave and, rather than waiting patiently for his humans, he took matters into his own paws…

Lead? ✔️
Ready to go? ✔️
Heading for the exit? ✔️
Looking completely innocent? Absolutely! 😂

We’re not sure whether he was thinking “Thanks for checking me over, I’ll see myself out!” or simply “Right, that’s enough excitement for one day!” 🐶😂

Either way, we think Finley deserves full marks for initiative, determination and excellent lead-carrying skills! 🏆🐾

It’s lovely to feel that cooler weather finally arriving after such a long, hot summer. 🌤️🍂 Our patients — and their humans too! — seem to be enjoying the more comfortable temperatures. 💚

🐾 Celebrating My First Year at Wrekin View Vets 🐾

I honestly have no idea where the past year has gone!

Eighteen months ago, I set a plan in motion and spent six months gaining valuable receptionist experience at Teldoc. I was then lucky enough to secure the job I had really hoped for — becoming a veterinary receptionist at the wonderful, independent Wrekin View Veterinary Practice in Wellington. 💚

From my very first day, our lovely clients, the vets, nurses and my fellow receptionists made me feel incredibly welcome. Every member of the team supports one another, sharing the happy moments and standing together through the sad and difficult times.

The compassion and dedication shown by the whole team — and their commitment to providing exceptional, consistent care for every pet who comes through our doors — is truly inspiring.

I’m so proud and honoured to be part of such a passionate, supportive and caring team. Here’s to my first year at Wrekin View Vets — and hopefully many more to come! 🐶🐱🐰🐹🐾💚

🐾 A Heartfelt Thank You from Wrekin View Veterinary Practice 🐾

August has been an exceptionally busy month for our team, made even more challenging by the very hot weather. We would like to thank all our wonderful clients for your continued patience, kindness and trust while we have cared for your much-loved pets.

This month has brought many joyful moments, including welcoming lots of gorgeous new puppies and kittens through our doors. We have loved meeting every one of them and helping them begin their journey towards a happy and healthy life. 🐶🐱

Sadly, August has also brought some incredibly difficult moments. We have supported a number of families as they have had to say a heartbreaking goodbye to their beloved companions. Our thoughts remain with everyone who has experienced the loss of a pet—they leave such an enormous space in our hearts and are never simply “just a pet.” 🌈🐾

Here are just a few of the lovely patients we have had the privilege of caring for throughout August. Whether your pet visited us for preventative healthcare, treatment for an illness or injury, ongoing care, or simply to meet our team for the very first time, thank you for entrusting them to us.

Your continued support means so much to every member of our team, and we are proud to be here for you and your pets through the happiest times and the hardest ones. 💚

🐾 HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY! 🐾🐶💚

Today, 26th August, is International Dog Day — the perfect excuse to celebrate all the wonderful dogs who bring so much happiness, companionship and laughter into our lives. 🥰

Here at Wrekin View Vets, we know that dogs are so much more than just pets. They’re part of the family, our loyal companions, walking buddies, cuddle partners and, quite often, the cheeky characters who keep us entertained every single day! 🐕🐾

🐾 SUNDAY – A DAY FOR YOU & YOUR BEST FRIEND 🐾

Sundays are a wonderful opportunity to slow things down after a busy week and enjoy a little extra quality time with your four-legged friend. 🐶💚

Whether it’s heading out for a long, relaxing walk, exploring a favourite woodland or park, enjoying some extra playtime in the garden, or simply curling up together on the sofa, those quiet moments together can mean just as much to our dogs as they do to us. 🐾🌳

A little extra attention, a favourite toy or perhaps a special Sunday treat can all help make their day — although we’re fairly certain most dogs would say more treats are always welcome! 😋🦴

Spending relaxed time together is also a lovely opportunity to notice those little things — how your dog is moving, eating, behaving and generally feeling. You know your pet better than anyone, and sometimes subtle changes are easiest to spot during those quieter moments together.

🌒 DID YOU CATCH THE ECLIPSE? 🌒😎

We hope you managed to catch a glimpse of yesterday’s partial solar eclipse! ☀️🌒 The last total solar eclipse visible from the UK was 27 years ago, in 1999 — so these celestial events are always rather special.

Of course, we hope everyone who watched did so safely and used proper eclipse glasses to protect their eyes. 😎☀️

Our lovely, bubbly receptionist Jude, however, appears to have taken some rather questionable advice and opted for the latest in eclipse-viewing headwear… a colander! 😂🤣

Very fetching, Jude… although we’re not entirely sure this is a method Wrekin View Vets can officially recommend! 🤣

Thankfully, the animals seem to have more sense and remembered their proper eclipse glasses! 🐶🐱🐰😎
