What lengths would you go to to keep your horses in your care?
With the cost of living rising to crazy levels, the droughts causing hay prices to rise, it’s becoming more and more expensive to care for our horses.
Gone are the days where you could find a field for as cheap as chips and throw your horses on, feed them for pennies and not have to worry one bit about how you’d afford them.
When do you say enough is enough? I can’t afford them anymore concerning daily care, vet bills, medications?
Would you put things on cards?
Would you go into deep debt?
Would you go without food yourself?
Would you put your horse before your humans?
What happens with the stuff that is unexpected? With the health conditions that suddenly arise that cost? What happens if you just can’t afford it? Where do you go from there?
No judgement. It’s just something I’ve been pondering for myself lately.
