The County Veterinary Clinic was established in January 2005 by veterinary surgeons Rachel Haslett & Dan Holden, with the sole intention of providing the same high standard of care for their patients that they would expect for their own pets, run by a friendly, compassionate and approachable team. As our aim is to provide the highest standard of care and service to you and your pet, we place a rea

l emphasis on investing in high quality equipment and facilities, as well as updating the knowledge and skills of our staff through continuing professional development and training. We provide a comprehensive veterinary care service, and have extensive facilities and equipment available to enable us to investigate and treat more complex problems if required. We are also one of only a handful of veterinary practices in the UK to have a specialist in veterinary anaesthesia and pain management as one of our staff.

A happy ending for Warlock!

He visited us back in June for a suspected injured paw, what we found was a lot more shocking. As you can see from picture three he had a badly shattered femur.

After deliberation, the owners opted to amputate his leg.

His owner recently emailed us the first two pictures along with a little note:

"Hello you wonderful lot… I’m sorry i took so long to give you an update ❤️
You all did an amazing thing…he healed up and is enjoying life! He’s a bit slow hopping about and can scrabble up onto the sofa arm, but I think it’s been so hot that he hasn’t moved as much as he will going forward, so muscle building slow. He continues to bring sustenance like slow worms and shrews. And gets lots of scritches where he can’t reach"

We hope Warlock continues to thrive as a tripod kitty 🐱

Louis came in today with a swelling on his paw that was not healing, we investigated and found a pesky grass seed hiding in the wound.

Luckily he was a very brave little man, with some medication on board we are hopeful he is now on the mend!
