Doggy Style South West is run by City & Guilds certified dog groomer, Lucy Taylor. Trained at KD Grooming Studios, Lucy offers a wide range of grooming services including nail clipping, bathing, full grooms, and puppy pampers.

Every 12 weeks we have a few angry dog days! We have our most 'challenging' clients who, to be honest, just have anxiety over grooming. My partner helps me with these to support the dog and stop me from losing a finger 😂
In truth, we've been working with these dogs for months or years and they've come on so much!!! It's brilliant to see how they've learnt to trust us. My partner grew up training big scary police dogs!
Not all dogs like grooming, in fact most don't. So I've always said do what is needed for their health and welfare and what works for the owner.
If you have a dog who's petrified of grooming, bathing, nail clipping, or just strangers please bare us in mind 😊

🌾🐾Grass seeds can be dangerous for dogs!
Their sharp, barbed shape can get caught in your dog’s paws, ears, eyes, nose or coat—and can sometimes work their way beneath the skin.

As a groomer, I'm finding grass seeds everywhere at the moment, and pictured is what I got out of just one paw!

⚠️Keep an eye out for:
• Excessive licking or chewing at a paw
• Head shaking or ear scratching
• Sneezing or nasal discharge
• Swelling, redness or soreness
• Sudden discomfort after a walk
After walks, especially through long grass, check your dog carefully—including between their toes, around their ears, in the armpits, and through their coat.
If you suspect a grass seed has become embedded call your vet for advice.

A few minutes of checking could help prevent a painful snd expensive problem. ❤️🐶

I had the privilege of meeting Bamba yesterday, such a sweet teacup Yorkie! Only a pup and unfortunately I caught his stifle with my clippers. Mum was really good about it and it was only a surface scratch but it does happen with sharp objects and a moving target! This is why good groomers are trained and insured.
We see every inch of your pup, and because of this we are able to pick up on things you might not notice, like Molly this week who I spotted had a cut by her ni**le.
Grooming isn't just a haircut, it's love 🩷
