I unfortunately managed to fall over and tear the ligaments in my ankle last Friday, so it’s been a weak of relying on my nearest & dearest to help me with all the horses, dogs, sheep & cows! And in return babysitting Elsie, who both Danny & I are smitten with!
Thanks to you all, you know who you are, who have gone out their way to make this week work, giving me lifts here there & everywhere & keeping all the animal happy in their routine! 🙏🏻

Janet Candys “Dromone Mikey” and I competing in SSADL Pre Senior class at Dunster Show a couple weeks ago.
He was 2nd place & was a really brave boy having to do his individual show during the Tractor Display in the main ring. Mikey really isn’t a fan of the heavy machinery so we were delighted that he kept his cool & did a beautiful set show🤎

We’ve had some really lovely days out this season & looking forward to the hunting season getting underway.

I’m very fortunate to have such a lovely owner on the yard who supports us at all our shows🫶🏻

There is something I deeply admire about my adult amateur ladies. 💙💜💙

They have careers. They have children. They have spouses, homes, endless responsibilities, and calendars that make my head spin.

And somehow… they still make room for the horses.

They squeeze in the barn before work. They come straight from the office. They rearrange schedules, find childcare, drive in after long days, and sometimes (often!) ride when they are already completely exhausted.

Not because they have unlimited time.

Because this matters to them.

This photo is one of my favorite reminders of that. A doctor, a full-time professional, a mom of two toddlers — and a horsewoman — carving out a little piece of the evening to do something that fills her cup. Just her, her horse, and a sunset.

Here’s to the women who have a million things on their plates — and still make time for their horses. 🥂🐴✨

Grace & her mare “Lady Amy” who is on part livery here came along with us to Brompton Regis Show on Saturday.
They placed 5th in the RoR class, it was both their first time in the show ring under saddle.

I had the pleasure of riding Janet Candys “Dromone Mikey” who is on full livery here.
He was entered in the large hunter class, he’s showing improvement with each outing & really pleased with him coming 5th in a competitive class of very smart horses.

A lovely day out at Porlock Horse Show.
Riding Janet Candy’s Dromone Mikey” in the open hunter for our first showing debut.
He’s starting to get the hang of it all using muscles he’d forgotten he has with plenty to work on at home & in our lessons.
Deputy Peanut & Sheriff Phoebe went in the Fancy Dress to come 6th in a very competitive class!
Thank you to Dayna for helping me & Nana Sue & Charlotte for bringing the picnic! 🫶🏻
