There is an expectation on dog trainers that no other profession has. People dont ask teachers to take in unruly kids do they?

Dog trainers train dogs.

Dog rescues rescue dogs.

Dog trainers do not keep a list of people who are desperate to adopt a reactive dog, indeed rarely to adopt any dog..🫠

I always help out when I can and I bet most other dog trainers do too. Most days I get asked to take or rehome a dog. Can you imagine if I did. I quit wanting to be the manager of the universe a long time ago as the more we do to help out those with a sad story the less energy we have for our own dogs and our own family.

This may sound like I dont care, but I do. I just realised that I cant fix the universe and I focus on myself, family and loyal customers before randomers with a sob story. 🤷‍♂️

Good night my favourite boy. ❤️

You were regal but goofy, loyal but aloof, serious but cheeky… you’ve gone 5 years further than I thought and I am immensely grateful that the fates that be chose you to be my first dog. 👑

You put me on the path I’m on now, were with me through breakups, losses, house moves and lockdown; a true constant and reliable companion. You were reliable in not only alerting me to intruders but also to bin lids closing, cars driving in the next street and Sandra closing her fridge door in the next village.

When you were 6 and diagnosed with osteosarcoma, everyone told me you wouldn’t make it past another year. Here we are 5 years later. One leg less but an absolute trooper.

Everyone says ‘it’s just a dog’ but all I hear is ignorance. I’ve had him in my life for 11 years and he has been there everyday, never judging, always happy, living in the moment. People could learn a lot from being ‘just a dog’.

Today you were squeaking your ball right up until the end. You spent the day being visited by those who loved you, gnawing on a marrow bone in the field out the back, full sunshine beaming down. You’ve had steak, egg, chicken, chocolate.

You’ve had so much love. And you’ve given us so much back. Thank you so much. 💔

I love you so much, and I’m glad you’re 100% out of pain now. We did the best we could for you and we chose your welfare over ours.

Rest in peace Bowser, surrounded by squeaky balls. We love you.

This is why we do what we do.

Teddy’s journey started with something as simple as struggling to pass people calmly on walks and allow them into his home and now Jenny’s sending us updates like this. 🥰

Not because Teddy suddenly became a different dog, but because Jenny put the work in, stayed consistent and helped him learn how to navigate the world with a bit more confidence, structure and calmness.

And apparently he’s now been off on his holidays, making doggy friends and living his best life. 😂🐾

Another successful Big Social Walk, lots of likeminded owners meeting together to walk their dogs and increase neutrality, calmness and positive associations around other dogs and people. Nice mix of breeds too! 🥰

When we go out to a case, we aren’t going in focusing solely on the behaviour that is causing the problem. We look at absolutely everything, because it all matters. Not doing this is like trying to complete a puzzle without all the pieces.

We are what we eat. This is the same for humans. Finding the right food for a dog can make such a huge difference not just to their overall well-being but also their behaviour.

As a Qualified Dynamic Dog practitioner, I am trained to assess physical gait, posture and conformation. If I see something abnormal in your dog’s movement I will tell you. What do you do with it is your choice, but so many behaviour cases are related to underlying discomfort and to miss this part would be doing a massive disservice to the dog.

As a team, we are open, upfront and honest about your dog’s lifestyle. We are massive advocates for ensuring your dog’s needs are being met, so we will point out if we feel this is not the case and add it into the training plan. It’s up to you to make the effort and change, but we cannot be responsible for the outcome of the training if not.

What we do within an hour with you is important, but it makes up a tiny portion of training. The real change happens in between sessions. If you don’t do the work, nothing changes. If you step up and do the work, we will be your biggest cheerleaders. We are always on the end of the phone to provide feedback and positive reinforcement.

Everyone is always arguing about what the best training method is, but sometimes the best training method is what works for that person and their dog. Every dog we go to see is different, and every training plan we advise is different. Hiring a trainer one on one is worlds apart from googling advice. What worked for someone else may not work for you, so calling in a professional to assess your individual circumstance can mean the difference between failure and success.

Our 6-week Puppy Course is designed to help you build the foundations for a confident, well-mannered dog - while giving you the skills to actually understand and train the puppy in front of you.

Over the 6 weeks we’ll work on:

🐾 Real-life skills - training that actually matters outside of class
🎯 Basic obedience - building focus, recall, lead skills and more
🌍 Socialisation - learning how to introduce your puppy to the world properly (it’s not just about meeting lots of dogs!)
💪 Confidence & resilience - helping puppies learn to cope with new experiences
🙌 Handling skills - preparing them for grooming, vets and everyday life
🧠 Understanding your puppy - so you know how to keep progressing at home

We have 3 trainers, meaning plenty of individual help throughout the course, alongside video guidance, a group Whatsapp and homework to hone your skills.

We train outdoors so your puppy gets to practise learning around the sights, sounds, smells and distractions they’ll actually encounter in everyday life without overwhelm.
