This little boy is Bodhi. He may not look groomed, but this is actually him after a full groom with us, and this is the most progress we have ever made.

Everytime we see him, his parents apologise that’s he is difficult to groom and we say the same thing each time - “it’s okay” 🩵

Bodhi has his tounge cut during a previous groom (another groomer, not us) and as difficult as it is to say, we understand why this happened to him.

Bodhi is the sweetest little dog, but he is terrified of grooming tools. He knows the difference between a hand, a comb, scissors or a brush, and he’s always paying attention to us, and he is FAST.

Dog groomers have to have fast reactions, but Bodhi is another level of quick.

We have to use scissors carefully and when Bodhi gets a fright, he instantly tries to bite them - so we don’t hold any bad feeling towards his previous groomer as we can 100% understand why this could happen when a dog reacts as fast as Bodhi does, however, we do want to fix it!

He reacted probably about 20 times during his entire groom today, and only the last 2 were proper bites, so that’s when we took him off the table and called it a day. The silver lining here is that we have done more today than all other grooms combined.

Bodhi is learning all over again that grooming is safe, and he has the right to tell us when to stop. We’re going to keep working on him and aim for a full groom and face trim, it might be next summer, it might be next winter, but in time he will learn that he is safe. Until then, we love seeing him and working with him to make him feel that way 🩵

Thank you Bodhi, you smashed it today! ⭐️
