✨️ Maggie✨️

Maggie is a beautiful 5-year-old girl looking for a very special type of home. Maggie prefers life on her own terms and is not a cat that enjoys handling, fuss, or close interaction with people.

Because of this, Maggie would be best suited to a farm, smallholding, stables, or rural home where she can enjoy her independence while still having access to shelter, food, and care. She is looking for a home that understands she is not a cuddly pet and is happiest when left to do her own thing.

Maggie could make a wonderful yard or barn companion for someone willing to give her a safe place to live without expecting affection in return. She likely will offer natural pest control instead of cuddles! She simply needs an understanding environment where she can live life at her own pace.

Maggie is neutered, chipped and vaccinated, so is ready to go.

🐈‍⬛ Why do black cats often stay in rescue longer?

Sadly, black cats are consistently among the hardest cats to rehome; not because of their personalities, but because of outdated myths, misconceptions, and even the simple fact they can be harder to photograph so don't stand out. Studies and rescue organisations around the world have reported that black cats are often overlooked in favour of more “unusual” colours or patterns.

Black cats are just as loving, playful, affectionate, and individual as any other cat. In fact, many black cats are known for being incredibly people-focused and loyal companions. 🖤

Every cat deserves a loving home, regardless of colour. While some of our black cats are still waiting patiently in rescue, we’d love people to look beyond appearances and get to know their personalities instead.

If you’ve ever considered adopting, please don’t scroll past the black cats. Your perfect companion might be the one everyone else overlooked. 🐾

Sorry we’ve been a little quiet on here recently — life has been very busy with our little Imogen turning 3 and all the party planning that came with it! 🎉💕 Now it's half term chaos!

We do have lots of lovely rescue updates though…

🐾 Bella, Fleur and Hermione (our Harry Potter kittens) have all found their forever homes.

🐾 Magic and Merlin are being adopted this week by the lovely lady who originally rescued them, which feels like such a special happy ending for these two.

🐾 Our long term girls Tora and Evie were adopted yesterday, which we are absolutely thrilled about after waiting so long for their perfect family.

🐾 Ember is now reserved 💛

We currently still have lots of cats and a few kittens looking for homes. We’re in the middle of updating the website, but in the meantime please do get in touch if you’re thinking about welcoming a new furry family member.

✨️Ronnie is ready to find his new home✨️

Ronnie is just 2 years old and has found life overwhelming. He came into rescue from a multi-cat household where he was struggling, being attacked by another cat and unable to cope with the busy environment, including young grandchildren.

When Ronnie first arrived in foster, he was very timid and unsure of everything around him. But slowly, with patience and kindness, he has started to trust again.

Now settled, Ronnie has shown just how lovely he truly is. He loves gentle strokes and tummy rubs once he knows you, will nudge for fuss, and sits beside his foster carers on the sofa. But he is still a sensitive boy, and any new home will need to give him time to feel safe again.

What Ronnie really needs now is someone willing to give him that chance. Without the right home, cats like Ronnie are so easily overlooked… but we know he has so much love to give to the right person.

Ronnie is looking for a calm, quiet home where he can relax and feel secure. He just needs patience, understanding and someone willing to see past his initial nerves.

Rehoming Criteria:
• Some experience with cats
• Older teenagers or adult-only home
• No other cats
• No dogs
• Can be left for a working day
• Access to a garden

A Busy Day Yesterday 🐱

Yesterday was a full on cat day alongside my shift at The Chobham Vet, with several of our cats receiving the care they need.

We welcomed beautiful 5-year-old Pepsi into rescue after a family member sadly became allergic to her. She had been health checked and started vaccines. Understandably, it’s a huge change for her, but she is settling in well and we’ll make sure she finds the loving forever home she deserves once ready.

Ember, the mother of Magic and Merlin, had her health check, vaccination and spay. Sadly, we suspected she may have been pregnant by her son, as Magic arrived pregnant and unfortunately this was confirmed. As with Magic, we made the difficult but responsible decision to carry out a spay abort.

Despite everything she has been through, Ember is doing incredibly well in foster. She is much happier now she is separate from Magic and Merlin, as she found living alongside them quite stressful.

For the first time in her life, Ember is learning what it feels like to be safe, cared for, and truly loved. She has come such a long way already and will soon be ready to start searching for her forever home.

Our adorable Harry Potter kittens all had their health checks and Hermione was spayed. She is on reserve pending a meet and her sisters also have a home lined up to go to together once they are spayed too.

Days like these are emotionally, physically, and financially exhausting—juggling rescue alongside work, whilst also being mum to Imogen and Olive, but this is the reality of rescue. Every health check, vaccination and neuter helps break the cycle and gives these cats the chance of a better future.

🐾 There’s Nothing Quite Like Earning a Cat’s Trust

There is something truly special about the moment an animal decides you are safe.

Magic and Merlin are only around 6 months old—at an age where they should be carefree, playful, and full of confidence. But because of the situation they came from, the world has felt like a scary place.

When they first arrived, they spent much of their time hiding—far more than you would ever expect from kittens. Human contact was something to be wary of, not something to seek out.

But slowly, with kindness, patience, and understanding… things are changing 💕

Merlin has only just started to relax enough to accept gentle strokes. It might sound like a small step, but for him, it’s huge. It’s the beginning of trust.

And now, both Magic and Merlin are starting to show us who they were always meant to be. They are growing in confidence every day and truly beginning to thrive in foster.

They will soon be ready to look for their fresh start—but right now, they still need us.

The care, time, and support that goes into helping cats like Magic and Merlin learn to trust again doesn’t come without cost.

Chilli and Pepper were rehomed in March and I think we can all agree they look super happy in their new home! Now called Monkey and Pepper, they are really enjoying exploring outside.

These girls came in to me due to financial concerns but were also living in a flat with no outside access. The owner felt they wanted to go out, which wasn't possible in the flat.

This is why all my cats, with the exception of medical cases, are rehomed with the choice of being allowed out. Even with the medical ones, my preference would always be a spacious catio or ideally a cat proofed garden. Of course some cats are happy being in a flat, but most really enjoy the choice of having some time outside sunbathing or exploring 😽

Tora and Evie are a special bonded pair who have had a difficult start in life, but despite everything, they are the sweetest, most deserving girls. They are currently safe and cared for in foster, but what they really long for is a place to truly call their own.

These sisters would love a home where they can finally enjoy safe outdoor access, as they are desperate to explore the world beyond their foster space.

Tora and Evie are looking for a quiet, calm home where they can feel safe and secure. They would be happiest as the only pets, with no dogs or other cats, and would prefer a home without young children.

They share such a lovely bond and must be adopted together 💕
