✨ TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS ✨
Twas the night ... or two before Christmas,
When all through the vets,
Not a single creature was stirring, not a single pet,
The IV lines, where hung on the Kennels with care,
In hopes that Santa Paws would soon be there.
The patients where all nestled all snug in their beds,
With visions of toys in their heads,
The vet had settled with a large coffee mug,
In hopes that no one had eaten a rug.
The clock struck 12 and the vet staff worry,
The phone starts to ring with an owner in a flurry,
She says that Fluffy has eaten an entire Christmas cake,
The whole thing in one, before she could shout “WAIT!”
Fluffy came down to the vets all happy and merry,
So pleased with herself, she needn't be warried,
Her owner was frantic, in a right panic,
The vets says not to worry and no need to be manic.
Fluffy was given a small injection
Then Fluffy's face fell and had the sudden realization,
Christmas cake is not for pets,
Fluffy’s head was full of regret.
The Christmas cake had to be brought back up,
Poor Fluffy was no longer a happy pup,
Fluffy’s owner was in delight,
To know that Fluffy would once again be full of light.
After a long night Fluffy then when home,
With lots of regrets and much woe
Fluffy will not be making that mistake again,
As she settled into her comfy home den.
