☀️ Keeping Your Dog Happy During Hot Weather 🐶

When temperatures exceed 23°C or above, it's safest to skip walks and help your dog stay cool at home instead. A missed walk is far better than risking heatstroke.

Here are some simple ways to keep them entertained:

🧊 Freeze a Kong, LickiMat or favourite chew with dog-safe fillings such as plain yoghurt, wet food or mashed banana.

🔎 Hide treats around the house for a fun scent game that keeps their brain busy.

🧩 Offer puzzle toys or a snuffle mat to provide mental enrichment without physical exertion.

🍉 Serve chilled or frozen dog-safe snacks like seedless watermelon, blueberries or cucumber.

💦 If your dog enjoys water, allow them a few minutes in a shaded garden with a paddling pool or sprinkler before heading back indoors to cool off.

Remember, dogs don't need to exercise every day if the weather isn't safe. Mental stimulation, enrichment and plenty of rest in a cool environment are the best ways to keep them happy during a heatwave.

What are your dog's favourite indoor activities when it's too hot outside? 🐾💚

An RSPCA worker locked himself inside a hot car for 25 minutes to experience exactly what happens to a trapped dog. 🌡️

Chris O'Brien shut himself in the vehicle outside the office on a warm day to film how fast conditions turn deadly.

Armed with a digital thermometer and a stopwatch, he recorded the physical toll the rising heat took on his body.

The experiment started with the air inside the car at a comfortable 23.3C.

Yet within just five minutes, the internal temperature rocketed to 35.1C.

By the ten-minute mark, the thermometer climbed to 43.6C, causing his heart to beat faster and his breathing to become heavy.

"I am baking. It is so, so hot in here. I can't even begin to tell you," he said during the recording.

Dogs regulate their body temperature very differently to humans and struggle significantly more under such extreme conditions.

After 15 minutes, the heat reached 48.8C, before crossing the 50C threshold just two minutes later.

By the end of the 25-minute challenge, the final temperature inside the vehicle reached a staggering 57.1C.

Forecasters are currently predicting another spell of hot weather across parts of the UK, with temperatures expected to climb into the 30Cs.

🌞 Hot Weather Update 🐾💚

With the warmer temperatures, your dog’s safety is always our top priority. Over the next few days, and during higher temperatures we'll be carrying out more pop ins instead of walks where they are needed (We will still do early morning walks if weather permits.)

Pop ins are a great way to make sure your dog is happy and comfortable without the risk of walking in the heat.

During our visit we'll:
🐶 Let them out into the garden for a toilet break
💧 Refresh their water bowl
🎾 Enjoy some playtime and enrichment indoors or in the shade
❤️Give them plenty of fuss and company

Thank you for your understanding and support!🐾 💚🐾

With a red weather warning for heat in place across England and Wales, we're urging dog owners to put their pooches into a temporary 'dog lockdown' for the next 48 hours ⚠️

Temperatures could reach around 39°C on Wednesday and Thursday, so now is the time to change routines and protect dogs from the extreme heat.

Our experts recommend keeping dogs indoors as much as possible and avoiding walks, fetch, ball games and other energetic exercise.

Missing a few walks is far safer than risking heatstroke. Please help us keep dogs safe and share to raise awareness 🔃

🎉🐾 Celebrating 5 Wonderful Years! 🐾🎉

Five years ago, we set out with a lead in one hand, a love for dogs in our hearts, and a dream. Today, we’re proud to be celebrating 5 years as part of this amazing community.

Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful dogs and their families, watching puppies grow up, welcoming new furry friends, and building lasting relationships along the way. We’ve watched nervous puppies grow into confident adults, celebrated new arrivals, comforted dogs in their senior years, and said heartbreaking goodbyes to some special friends who left paw prints on all our hearts. Every dog we’ve walked has become part of our story.

What makes this journey so special isn’t just the dogs, it’s the people behind them and the sense of community we’ve been lucky enough to be part of. To every client who has trusted us with their beloved pets, recommended us to friends and neighbours, shared kind words, or supported our small business in any way, thank you. Your support has helped us grow and do what we love every single day.

We’re incredibly grateful to be part of such a caring, dog loving community, and we’re excited for many more years of wagging tails, muddy paws, and happy adventures together.

Thank you for being part of our story. 💚🐾

Safe, Happy & Cool: The Hot Weather Dog Essentials☀️

Summer days are fun, but the heat can be tough on our furry friends. Dogs don’t cool down the way we do, so it’s important to give them safe, simple ways to stay comfortable. Two of our favourite cooling essentials are:

🧊 Cooling Mats
These mats provide a refreshing spot for your pup to relax after playtime. They help regulate body temperature and are perfect to use indoors and in the car!

🐾 Cooling Bandanas
Just soak them in water and slip one on your dog for instant relief! They’re lightweight, stylish, and ideal for any occasion.

💡 Pro Tip: Pair a cooling mat with a bandana for double the comfort on extra hot days!

Keeping your pup cool isn’t just about comfort, it’s about their health and safety. Heat stress and overheating can happen quickly, so a few simple tools can make all the difference.

We encourage socialisation because it helps dogs grow into calm, confident, and well mannered companions 🐾
Regular interaction with other dogs builds communication skills, reduces fear, reactivity, and supports overall mental wellbeing. It’s not just about play it’s about helping dogs feel comfortable and secure in the world around them.
A well socialised dog is a happier dog 💚🐾
