💚 Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month 💚

To round off our celebrations and show our appreciation for our amazing nursing team, we started the day before sunrise with a walk up Llanmadoc Hill, taking in some of the most spectacular views that Gower has to offer.

We feel incredibly lucky to work alongside such a fantastic team of nurses, both past and present, and equally lucky to live and work in such a beautiful part of the world.

Even those who have moved on remain great friends, and that sense of friendship and support is what makes Gower Vets so special.

Thank you to all of our nurses for everything you do. 💚🐾

Come to work with Jo and Lauren for a typical morning as veterinary nurses 🩺🐾

In this video, you’ll see us:
• Taking blood samples
• Running tests in our in-house lab
• Monitoring anaesthesia during procedures
• Supporting recovery with plenty of TLC
• Carrying out regular TPR checks
• And, of course, giving lots of fuss, cuddles, and love ❤️

Every patient gets the care and attention they deserve from start to finish - it's why we love our job 🐶🐱

Today is definitely bittersweet at Gower as we say goodbye to two wonderful members of our team — but more than anything, we’re incredibly proud. 💚

We want to wish both Talis and Loretta the very best of luck as they head off on exciting new adventures and take the next steps in their careers. 🍀

Talis has been part of the Gower family since leaving school, growing from a student veterinary nurse into a reliable, skilled, and truly valued member of the team. Watching your journey has been amazing, and while your new role may feel like a challenge, we have every confidence that you will absolutely thrive!

Loretta has brought so much positivity, care, and energy to our client care team. The improvements and changes you’ve helped create have shone through in the fantastic feedback we receive from clients every day. We will miss your fabulousness enormously, and your new workplace is incredibly lucky to have you!

Thank you both for everything you have given to Gower. You’ve each made a lasting impact on the team, our clients, and our practice. While we’ll miss you greatly, this isn’t goodbye — we’ll definitely be keeping in touch and cheering you both on every step of the way.

This is the adorable Merfyn who is a Sealyham Terrier! 🤍🐶

The Sealyham Terrier is a rare, small-to-medium-sized terrier originating from Wales in the mid-19th century. Originally developed for hunting, they are now known as affectionate family companions, often described as charming "gentlemen" with a mischievous sense of humor.

Merfyn came in for castration and certainly lived up to his breed, we all fell in love with him and as you can see he was more than happy to come back in for his post op check 💚 here's to a speedy recovery 🐾

Big win for sweet Pablo 🐶✨

After struggling with painful, irritated eyes, they’ve just had successful entropion surgery—and what a difference already!

No more eyelashes rubbing, no more discomfort, just the start of a much happier, healthier life 💙

Huge shoutout to the veterinary team for their skill and care.

Recovery mode now, with lots of rest, cuddles, and (of course) treats 🦴

Nothing better than seeing a dog get their sparkle back! ✨
