A very friendly black and white kitten was brought into the practice this evening after being found by nearby neighbours. We think the kitten is approximately 8-10 weeks old and male (although quite hard to say for certain). Sadly they have no microchip. We are unsure if they have managed to get out of a nearby house or if they are a stray. The kitten was found in the Summerland/Edgemoor area. The lovely neighbours have taken the kitten home for the evening and will be contacting the appropriate rescues tomorrow. Please contact us if you recognise them 🖤🤍🐾

DOG FOUND

A tricolour small breed dog was found between 1:30pm and 2pm today on fairwood common, just up from the Ilston turning. They are unfortunately not microchipped. If this is your pet, please call us on 01792 299111, or come to the practice with proof of ownership.

🌸 Maisie 🌸

🐾 Maisie the Golden Retriever paid us a visit today for an ear check! As one of our lovely staff pets, she clearly knew exactly where to come when her ears started bothering her. 😉

During her consultation, the vet examined both ears using an otoscope. A sample was collected from the ear canal using a cotton bud, rolled onto a microscope slide, stained, and then examined under the microscope. The sample revealed the presence of yeast, which appeared as purple-stained cells (classic snowman shape ☃️), confirming a yeast ear infection. 🔬

Maisie has been prescribed ear drops to help clear up the infection and keep her ears comfortable. She was a very happy and well-behaved patient throughout her visit and took everything in her stride. 🐶

We hope you're feeling better soon, Maisie—we look forward to seeing you again for your check-up! 💚

What a fantastic weekend! 🏆✨

Following our recent announcement about winning 1st Place Champion in the RCVS Knowledge Awards for our work on antibiotic stewardship, our vet Jenny had the privilege of attending the awards ceremony in London to accept the award on behalf of our practice.
It was an incredible experience to meet so many passionate veterinary professionals who are all committed to improving patient care through quality improvement. We are truly honoured to have our project recognised!

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at RCVS Knowledge for hosting such a fantastic event and for all the work you do to support quality improvement across the veterinary profession. 🫶🏻

Most importantly, thank you to every member of our practice team. This award is the result of your hard work, dedication, and commitment to providing the very best care for our patients every single day. I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved together. 💚🐾

💚 Today we say goodbye to a wonderful colleague Hannah, and while we're so sad to see her leave, we're incredibly excited for her next chapter.

It's been an absolute pleasure watching her grow throughout her journey with us—from Patient Care Assistant, to Student Veterinary Nurse, and finally to Registered Veterinary Nurse. 👩‍🎓 Her dedication, hard work, and commitment have been inspiring to see.

🐈 Anyone who knows her knows she has a real passion for cats, so her new role at Swansea Cat Clinic couldn't be a more perfect fit. They are incredibly lucky to have her! 😻

Wishing you every success and happiness in your new adventure. Thank you for everything you've brought to the team—you'll be greatly missed, but we know you're going to do amazing things. Good luck! 🐱💚

A beautiful female cat has been brought into us with concerns of her being a stray. She has been seen around Reynoldston and has been posted in local community pages prior to being brought here.
