We are thrilled to announce that we are currently developing an exciting new project with the support of the National Lottery and local partners (see below) focused on finding out what 0-5 year olds and their parents need to build their confidence to gain all the benefits of the green spaces on their doorsteps to their wellbeing, their parenting and their children and family development.

Tyfu’n Wyllt will co design activities that bring families together in nature – creating a safe space for under 5s to thrive by creating a safe space for parents to feel confident to bring their children outside, connecting with each other as well as their environment.

I’m sure you can all see how perfect the Farm environment and staff team is for this but we need your help. We are as keen as ever that you help design Tyfu’n Wyllt so please look out for activities and fill in our survey

Bydd Tyfu’n Wyllt yn cyd-ddylunio gweithgareddau sy'n dod â theuluoedd ynghyd mewn natur – gan greu lle diogel i blant dan 5 oed ffynnu trwy greu lle diogel i rieni deimlo'n hyderus i ddod â'u plant allan, gan gysylltu â'i gilydd yn ogystal â'u hamgylchedd.

With the Swansea Half Marathon right around the corner, we want to cheer on our heroes (including staff member Cerys) who are dedicated to the farm in more ways than one. This Sunday, 7 June, some of our staff and community members are running the marathon to raise funds for the farm in collaboration with the Runner Events Ltd!

After the success at the Llanelli Half Marathon and Great Welsh Marathon among others, we look forward to reaching our fundraising goal with the help of this amazing bunch at the Swansea Half Marathon 🏃‍➡️

This is a great opportunity for you all to support Wales' only city farm that continues to make strong impact on the community with the work we do. You can simply support the participants by sponsoring their runs and help them reach their goal 🎽🤳

You are an integral part of our farm and community, and we would love your contribution, small or big, towards this wonderful effort by our fellow residents!

Make a Difference Monday with the Volunteers Week! 🧑‍🌾
Our volunteers make a difference every single day, no matter the place, time or weather. Every time they step into the farm, warmth and cheer follows them. They have made the farm what it is, and we are grateful for them not just this week but every day! 🫶

The volunteers are our very own magicians who, with every seed sown and every animal nurtured, create magic. The impact they bring goes leaps and bounds beyond the farm and animals, as it extends to the community. We not only take pride in being Wales’ only city farm but also being a farm run by volunteers who treat this space as their home and haven.

“The volunteers are the heart and soul of the farm. We couldn’t run without them,” says Kate, our chef. That’s how crucial they are to us and the community.

At the farm, we try to show our appreciation and gratitude through small gestures throughout the year. But this Volunteers Week we go big and boost it ten folds with some fun activities and entertainment with the support of our sponsors, National Lottery, West Glamorgan Regional Integrated Partnership, Garfield Weston Foundation and Natur Am Byth! 🥳

Watch this space to see what went down this week! 🤗

Gwnewch Wahaniaeth Dydd Llun gydag Wythnos y Gwirfoddolwyr! 🧑‍🌾

Mae ein gwirfoddolwyr yn gwneud gwahaniaeth bob dydd, ni waeth beth fo'r lle, yr amser na'r tywydd. Bob tro maen nhw'n camu i mewn i'r fferm, mae cynhesrwydd a llawenydd yn eu dilyn. Nhw sydd wedi gwneud y fferm yr hyn ydyw, ac rydym yn ddiolchgar amdanynt, nid yn unig yr wythnos hon ond bob dydd! 🫶

Y gwirfoddolwyr sy’n creu’r hyd mae’r cymuned yn mwynhau, gyda phob had a heuir a phob anifail a feithrinir, yn creu hud. Mae'r effaith maen nhw'n ei chael yn mynd ymhell y tu hwnt i'r fferm a'r anifeiliaid, wrth iddi ymestyn i'r gymuned. Nid yn unig ydy ni yn ymfalchïo yn bod yn unig fferm ddinesig Cymru ond hefyd yn fferm sy'n cael ei rhedeg gan wirfoddolwyr sy'n trin y lle hwn fel eu cartref a'u hafan.

“Y gwirfoddolwyr yw calon ac enaid y fferm. Fydden ni ddim yn medru rhedeg hebddyn nhw,” meddai Kate, ein cogydd. Dyna pa mor hanfodol ydyn nhw i ni a'r gymuned.

Ar y fferm, rydym yn ceisio dangos ein gwerthfawrogiad a'n diolchgarwch trwy ystumiau bach drwy gydol y flwyddyn, ond yr Wythnos Gwirfoddolwyr hon rydym yn mynd yn fawr ac yn rhoi hwb iddo ddeg gwaith gyda rhai gweithgareddau hwyliog ac adloniant! 🥳

Cadwch lygad ar y gofod hwn i weld beth ddigwyddodd yr wythnos hon! 🤗

What happens when you bring kids filled with summer enthusiasm and ducklings together? A spring day of fun, laughter, and creativity! 🐣✨

Families flocked to the farm with their little ones to soak in the sun and farm as the summer sets in. From the insightful nature discovery sessions to messy play, the Half term playscheme engaged the children in a variety of ways by bringing out creativity as well as offering a wholesome experience amidst plants and animals. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of and we’re absolutely grateful for their donation that made this event happen!

One mum said ‘This place is incredible, I’ve never been able to make these play sessions before. There’s so much to do, my daughter loves it and it’s affordable and on my doorstep,’.

The sun matched the energy and spirit the kids brought in, making the day blissful overall giving us the chance to entertain the kids and the little ones at the farm alike!

The fun certainly isn’t restricted to one day, thus we welcome you to visit the farm every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and wish you all a happy summer ahead! 🌞⛱️

Beth sy'n digwydd pan fyddwch chi'n dod â phlant sy'n llawn brwdfrydedd a hwyaid bach at ei gilydd? Diwrnod o hwyl, chwerthin a chreadigrwydd! 🐣✨

Croesawyd teuluoedd i'r fferm gyda'u plant i fwynhau'r haul a ffermio wrth i'r haf ddechrau. O'r sesiynau darganfod natur craff i chwarae, roedd cynllun chwarae'r Hanner Tymor yn ymgysylltu â'r plant mewn amrywiaeth o ffyrdd trwy ddod â chreadigrwydd allan yn ogystal â chynnig profiad iachus ymhlith planhigion ac anifeiliaid.

Dwedodd un fam ‘mae’r lle yma yn anhygoeol, dyma’r tro cyntaf dwi di dod I'r sesiwn yma, mae sut gymaint i neud ac mae yn ein cymunded ac yn costio bron ddim’.

Roedd yr haul yn cyd-fynd â'r egni a'r ysbryd a ddaeth â'r plant i mewn, gan wneud y diwrnod yn fendigedig ar y cyfan gan roi cyfle i ni ddifyrru'r plant a'r rhai bach ar y fferm fel ei gilydd!

Yn sicr nid yw'r hwyl wedi'i gyfyngu i un diwrnod, felly rydym yn eich croesawu i ymweld â'r fferm bob dydd Mawrth, dydd Iau a dydd Sadwrn ac yn dymuno haf hapus i chi gyd! 🌞⛱

This week’s Make a Difference Monday is all about getting out into nature, learning new skills, and spending quality time together 💚

Last week, some of our volunteers headed to the beautiful Gower and Rhossili as part of a biodiversity improvement project with Gower Landscape Connections. Together, they learned how to carry out soil sampling and testing - helping them understand more about the health of the land and the importance of protecting local ecosystems.

For many of our volunteers, it was also their first time visiting Rhossili Bay and experiencing the incredible scenery that Gower has to offer. Alongside the learning, the group also took part in a litter pick, helping care for the coastline and giving something back to the environment.

These kinds of trips are so important for our farm family. They give volunteers the chance to build confidence, learn practical new skills and experience new places. Spending time together in nature supports wellbeing, encourages connection, and creates memories that stay with people long after the day is over.

Here’s what some of our volunteers had to say:

“I enjoyed collecting soil samples and learned a lot. I enjoyed the walk and the litter pick, and it has made me feel good spending time with friends in the fresh air.”

“I love learning new things such as soil sampling and seeing different birds in the sky. I also loved having fun with friends.”

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the day possible - the volunteers and staff always look forward to such amazing collaborations and opportunities which expands our horizons (literally and figuratively 😉) by bringing us closer to the nature and to each other.

We’re so excited to introduce the newest members of the family - our adorable baby goats, a boy and a girl - Llwyd and Gwyn 🐐

Their names mean “grey” and “white” in Welsh, and they were chosen in honour of Lloyd & Whyte Group, who very kindly match funded our recent gala raffle and auction. Their generosity and support mean so much to us, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done to help.

Llwyd and Gwyn are already full of personality, mischief, and cuddles, and we can’t wait for everyone to come and meet them! 💕

As it’s Mental Health Awareness Week, it feels like the perfect time to celebrate the joy and comfort animals can bring. As a mental health and wellbeing charity, we see the positive impact of animal therapy every single day - whether it’s reducing stress, encouraging connection, lifting mood, or simply giving someone a reason to smile. And honestly… what better way to improve your mental health than by taking a moment to slow down, breathe, and cuddle a baby goat? 🐐✨

Be sure to visit soon and say hello to our newest little stars 💕

Today’s feels especially emotional 💚

We recently received the most beautiful framed message from a family whose daughter has been part of the farm journey for a few years. As she prepares to head off on a new adventure in Australia, they wanted to share what the farm has meant to her - and to them as a family.

They spoke about how becoming a Farm Club volunteer and later a Farm Ranger gave her purpose, achievement and a true sense of belonging. They shared how the farm became a place where she was trusted, valued and encouraged to grow into herself with confidence.

"The impact of that will stay with her - and with us - forever. We will always be deeply grateful for your kindness, dedication, and the magic you brought into her world."

Reading their words was a powerful reminder of why spaces like this matter so much. The farm is more than just a place - it’s a community where young people can feel seen, supported and empowered.

We are so proud of everything she has achieved and wish her the most incredible adventure on the other side of the world!

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey 💚
