(1193)

The highest standards in selecting our dogs, the highest standards in training them, and the highest standards in matching them perfectly with our clients’ requirements both in terms of personal protection and family life. Our dogs are there to be part of your family, and to protect your family whenever necessary. Whilst personal protection dogs absolutely have to protect, they are very different

animals to military dogs and most police dogs or working security dogs. These working dogs usually perform one role only and only in tandem with specialist handlers. They are generally not encouraged to socialise and usually don’t make good pets as they are normally not encouraged to be accepting of outsiders. A genuine personal protection dog though has to pack more muscle than these working dogs, must be able to think for itself when needed, and at the same time needs impeccable social skills to bond perfectly and easily into a family unit. In short, personal protection dogs must be as happy playing with the children as they are neutralising the threat from an armed robber. Knowing how to select the right dogs for this role, and then being able to train them into it over many months takes a great amount of knowledge and a deep understanding of both the animals and the clients they will ultimately work with. A1K9 has almost 20 years of experience in this highly-specialised field and a satisfied client list that extends around the world, many of whom are coming back for their second, third and even fourth dogs. It’s a record we are very proud of and one we believe speaks for itself. If you’d like to find out more we’re always happy to talk so please feel free to call us on +44 (0)1792 883395, email us [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you. Dog Obedience Training, Puppy Classes and other Pet Dog Training. Alongside our core business of training and providing personal protection dogs, we also lend our experienced hands to dog obedience classes. Fun and friendly, and in a glorious setting, we can help solve any obedience, or behavioural issues that you may be having with your dogs. This part of the business now has it's own page:

Well look at this fluffy bear.
Now fully trained, A1K9 family protection dog Koda is ready to be reserved by his future family; so if you are a fan of the longer coated GSDs, this might be one for you.

Apologies for the lack of posts, however, the weather hasn't helped when it comes to taking nice pictures.

Here are a few shots that I took of Lilly with A1K9 Bo, one of our highly trained and very capable family protection dogs. Bo is from German working lines and has the old fashioned DDR look and similar traits to dogs I trained over 25 years ago. He has a super disposition, happy to mingle with people of all ages and easily controllable by youngsters, as shown here with Lilly who is just 13 years old. Bo will be completing his training soon, so if you want more info on this stunning dog, please give us a call.

What do you think of this handsome boy?
Meet Ronny, a beautifully bred, long coated, GSD male, who has recently joined us at A1K9.
Definitely one to keep an eye on as he progresses through his training, could well be another top tier A1K9 in the making! CW

An absolutely beautiful day at A1K9 today and the pack walks this morning were really enjoyable in the lovely warm weather.
After our walk and some training, I took a few pictures of Brook, one of the dogs that joins us each week as he is certainly a good looking lad and is very photogenic.
For all you eagle eyed dog lovers out there, what breed do you think Brook is?
I can tell you they are a rare breed, any ideas?

CUTE isn't he!!

This little fellow will be starting his training journey with A1K9 soon.

This lovely little Dutch Herder belongs to an old friend of mine and he will soon be embarking on his training journey at a nice relaxed slow pace, innitially joining our puppy classes and then working his way through the obedience training programmes that we offer.

The final part of the journey if he proves suitable will be preparing and training him as a family protection dog but unlike others, I will not even look at this until he is at least 12 - 15 months of age when he has a good degree of obedience under his belt and is mature enough to accept the correct type of training.

We will not be looking to create a prey driven sport dog but a level headed family companion and protector. There is a HUGE difference between the two and when you are a single mum with a young child living in the house, an alligator that wants to bite everything because it moves fast is not an option!!

I am sure that there will be loads more pics and updates of this lad as he progresses.
