🐾 Meet Wiggy & Penny – The Real Bosses of Sandy Paws 🐾
If your dog joins us for group walks, there’s a good chance they’ll be tagging along with my two—Penny and Wiggy—who’ve been with me from the start! Rescued by the amazing Balkan Underdogs team, these Serbian queens are now living their best lives in Swansea 🫶
🐶 Penny (formerly Klara) once roamed the streets of Serbia, regularly visiting a government pound in search of food. Eventually, the staff decided it was time to bring her into their care. She became one of their 'long-termers'—which, of course, made her the perfect choice for us! Now six years old, Penny still channels her inner puppy when the mood strikes. She’s ridiculously clever, utterly obsessed with toys, and would walk all day if I let her. Baths, though? That’s a firm no. She adores a good cuddle, transforms into a ✨diva✨ when it rains - a far cry from her life on the street.
🐕 Wiggy (formerly Scout) was rescued alongside her sister, and luckily wasn't on the street long before she was rescued. Wiggy made the long trip from Serbia to Swansea when she was 1, and has been making us laugh ever since. Now 3-years old, she's gone from shy to full-on sass queen💅 She sleeps in bed with her head on the pillow, refuses to go out in the rain, and if you see her on a walk she'll likely be rolling on her back - don't ask why😂 She and Penny are best mates, love a good playfight, and possibly the greediest dogs on the planet!
Both girls have come such a long way, and it’s honestly been amazing to watch them grow into the confident, happy dogs they are now. They’ve got loads of friends across Swansea, and they’re brilliant at helping new dogs settle in on group walks.
