Trained but never ran
You know I have a soft spot for thoroughbreds and he is no exception. He's a really kind, fun person and a real trier.
He's been in the same 🏡 for 5 years but unfortunately a job change and relocation has left him out of work for the last year and a half.
He's come back into work like an absolute star, I just got on the day after he came and hacked him round the village with no issue.
Saying this it appears I am 'old fashioned' in the way I bring them back into work after a long spell off and he's mostly been hacking about and lunging long and low to start to build his muscle back up with a couple of sessions of light schooling in the field and school, some easy pole work but he has not cantered or jumped yet.
Now he's getting stronger and fitter he's had a couple of excited 'wiggles' under saddle when schooling, not quite sure how else to describe them 😅. They're a bit pathetic and he hasn't backed them up, and I'm pretty sure a few more weeks work under his belt back into 'proper full work' and he won't bother. Top and bottom of it being he's a good lad but he's a tb and not dead from the neck up 😅 but obviously needs a mention.
He hacks alone and in company and hasn't been phased by any of the traffic we've come across, looks at the odd thing but processes and carries on (a bonfire behind the hedge the other day for example). He had a jog when Jake zoomed by him on his pony the 2nd day he was ridden here but I think I was lucky that's all he did, poor sod!
He's got a soft mouth, you can put your leg on and although he's not done lots of schooling he tries very hard to understand what you're after and is not a llama. With a bit of time he'd go smartly.
At home he has mostly hacked, hunted and a bit of work in the school, he's been a fun best friend.
He was hunted in a hanging cheek snaffle and was mannerly.
He's nice to have around, has no vices and eats up well!
Good to do on the ground and handled by Jake.
Got a good set of legs on him and fair feet.
He unfortunately does have sarcoids. Some of these have been treated but he does still have some. None are angry or bother him but we get that some people just won't take them on.
We're looking for someone that wants a best friend to have some fun with.
He'll come with all his wardrobe
