A massive thank you to everyone who joined us on today’s Ultimutt Social & Training Walk! 🐾❤️

What a fantastic group of humans and dogs! It was brilliant to see everyone enjoying themselves, learning together and supporting one another. The dogs did amazingly, and I’m so proud of the progress they’re all making!

Thank you for making it such a lovely walk — I can’t wait to do it all again! 🐾💚

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on our Ultimutt Social & Training Walk today! 🐶❤️

What a brilliant morning! The company was fantastic, the dogs all did incredibly well, and we were blessed with another lovely day to enjoy together. ☀️🐾

Our Social & Training Walks are about so much more than simply going for a walk. They’re a fantastic opportunity to:

🐾 Practise real-life training in a supportive environment
🐾 Build focus and engagement around other dogs and people
🐾 Work on calmness and appropriate social behaviour
🐾 Build confidence in different environments
🐾 Practise loose-lead walking and recall
🐾 Learn to manage distractions and changing levels of arousal
🐾 Give dogs positive and appropriate social experiences without forcing interaction
🐾 Strengthen the bond between dogs and their humans
🐾 And, of course… have lots of fun! ❤️

I love seeing the progress each dog makes during these walks. Whether it’s calmly walking alongside another dog, checking in with their human, coping with distractions or simply enjoying being out and about in a group, every little win matters.

They’re also a lovely opportunity for our humans to meet like-minded dog owners, share experiences, support each other and enjoy being part of the Ultimutt community. 🥰

Thank you all for making today such a wonderful walk. You and your dogs were absolutely fantastic! 🐕❤️

Real-World Training with Pan!

What a brilliant session today with the lovely Pan!

We went on our travels to the lovely Glapwell Garden Centre, where we enjoyed a cuppa in the café while Pan worked on his settle training in a real-world environment.

Proofing behaviours outside of the training environment is so important. Our dogs need to learn that the skills we teach them aren't just for the training hall — they can use them wherever life takes them!

Pan did amazingly today, and alongside his settle work, we also continued building his disengagement skills — helping him learn to notice the world around him and then choose to disengage and refocus.

A fantastic session with a brilliant team!

And come on… you have to admit he looks pretty adorable with his dog treat in his mouth!

Just look at lovely Luna!

Doesn’t she look absolutely amazing in her doughnut?!

Luna also joined us for our Co-operative Care Course today and did brilliantly in her first session.

I’m so excited to see her confidence grow as we work on helping her feel comfortable, safe and involved in her own care.

What a superstar! 🌟

Today we began our super exciting new Co-operative Care Course at Ultimutt Dog Training!

Does your dog struggle with nail clipping?
Feel stressed when wearing a Buster collar?
Find grooming difficult?
Or worry about having their harness put on?

Co-operative care is especially valuable for those routine but important experiences at the vets too — from examinations and handling, to vaccinations and other procedures they may need throughout their lives.

This course is designed to help reduce stress and anxiety around handling, equipment and veterinary care, while teaching our dogs that they can have a choice in participating.

Because consent isn't about allowing our dogs to simply say “no” to everything. It's about teaching them that their communication matters, giving them appropriate choices, and building behaviours that allow us to work together when care is needed.

And here is the truly amazing Harley, absolutely smashing her first session today while wearing her doughnut!

I am incredibly proud of all the owners who have joined me on this course and are learning about a topic that isn't talked about nearly enough — consent and choice.

Because cooperative care isn't simply about getting the job done. It's about helping our dogs feel safe, understood and involved in their own care.
