🐾 BIOSECURITY UPDATE - PLEASE READ - JM K9 KUTS 🐾

I need to put a strict 48-hour sickness rule in place to protect all dogs.

As most of you know, the majority of my dogs come from group walks / daycare with dog walkers, so dogs are all mixing daily. It’s like having loads of kids in one classroom — germs get passed around so easily and it becomes a fest for bugs to be passed on.

I have been up for several nights with my own dogs who have a nasty gastro upset, which is very uncommon for them. I have to assume I have become a breeding ground for this from the salon, and I need to stop it spreading further.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG IF THEY HAVE ACUTE GASTRO UPSET

By this I mean a sudden / new upset that follows the symptoms below.

If your dog normally has an on-and-off loose stomach and this is normal for them, then that is fine to still come. It is only if it is acute / new and they have these symptoms:

• Sudden vomiting / being sick
• Sudden diarrhoea / very loose, watery stools, mucus, or blood
• Drooling, lip licking, gulping (feeling sick)
• Off food / not eating
• Very lethargic, quiet, low energy
• Loud gurgling stomach / straining to go to the toilet

Why we have to be so strict - how it spreads:

Gastro upset is often contagious and spreads in minutes in a salon through licking, shared bowls, bedding, and on our hands/clothes.

The primary contagious triggers include:

VIRAL: Parvovirus, Coronavirus, Rotavirus - highly contagious via infected faeces, vomit, or contaminated surfaces.
BACTERIAL: Salmonella, Campylobacter, E.coli - from contaminated food, water, or direct contact with stool. Some can also spread to humans.
PARASITES: Giardia, Coccidia, Worms - from swallowing microscopic cysts/eggs from puddles, soil, shared water bowls, or licking faeces.

If your dog IS well, it is important they DO come to their appointment:

Regular grooming prevents matting which traps bacteria, keeps nails short so they can walk comfortably, and keeps skin clean and healthy. Missing regular appointments can cause more problems.

If your dog is showing acute gastro symptoms, please message me and I will re-book after they are clear. No charge for illness cancellations.

Thank you for helping me keep JM K9 Kuts safe for all our dogs and my own.

✨ DE-SHED OFFER FOR DOUBLE COATED DOGS ✨ OFFER ENDS 29th AUGUST 2026

Is your house covered in fur? Let me help!
Professional de-shed groom to blow out that thick undercoat and leave your dog feeling lighter and cooler.

Prices:
£10 - £15: Pug - with ears + a**l glands included
£15: Labrador, Belgian Malinois, Border Collie
£15 - £20: Pointer, Beagle, Rottweiler
£20: Chow Chow
£20 - £25: Short hair German Shepherd
£20 - £30: Husky
£25 - £30: Akita

Any double coated breed I’ve missed off? Drop me a message for a price.

What is a double coated dog?
A double coated dog has 2 layers of fur: a soft, thick undercoat for insulation and a harsher topcoat that repels dirt and water. Breeds like Huskies, Labs, GSDs, and Collies are double coated.
Why do they need de-shedding?
Regular brushing only gets the top layer. A de-shed removes the loose undercoat before it mats, reduces shedding in your home by up to 90%, and helps regulate their temperature in summer.

Important: If your dog has a groom which includes clipping they do not have a double coat.
Double coated breeds do not have hair that continuously grows, it’s a coat under the top coat which grows once/twice a year.

TEETH CLEANING IS COMING BACK! 🐶✨

Hi all! I’m thinking of bringing back professional Emmi-Pet ultrasonic teeth cleaning at the salon.

I did it before but it was an expensive kit and not many people booked, so before I buy in again I need to know YOU actually want it!

How it works:
First session: £30 - £45
Includes consultation + your dog’s own personal brush head
Maintenance sessions: from £20 every 4-8 weeks

I’m planning to run this 1-2 days per month.
It’s pain-free, no sedation, and amazing for tartar, bad breath + gum health.

Can you do me a favour and COMMENT below if you’d book this for your dog, and LIKE this post so I know there’s interest?

If there’s enough demand I’ll get the dates up!
Thanks so much x

Just a quick note to everyone 💛

Over the past 8 weeks I’ve had 16 appointment cancellations on the day. That means huge gaps in my diary, lost income, and hours waiting around.

Please, only book if you’re sure you can come. If you’re having issues or money’s tight, I will always meet you with sympathy and do what I can to help — just talk to me. I’ve had health problems myself recently and know how hard it is to juggle things.

I’ve got 20+ years experience working with big, difficult, nervous and even dangerous dogs — the ones other groomers won’t take. I do this because I love helping dogs and making it a safe, happy experience for them.
I’m also always on hand for free advice on behaviour and certain health issues, and I do local pick-up/drop-off at no extra charge.

I’ve also had a few people be extremely rude while still expecting a discount. I’ve got bills to pay like everyone else, and that part has been really upsetting.

I get that life is busy with kids, holidays, etc and appointments are easy to forget. But I rely on these bookings to keep going.

Thank you to everyone who does turn up and supports me. It means the world.
Thank you for your continued support
