Tennis ball retrieve off the launcher from Tweed, not to bad considering only just finished her season which affected her a lot last time 🩷

This morning we set the blind up again in the same area, but this time we added a bit of control. I stopped Bert halfway, then sent him back out to complete the retrieve.

Once he'd done that successfully, I resent him and let him run the whole distance so he doesn't become sticky about driving out on blinds.

Things are really starting to come together. We're taking it nice and steady with Bert, building his confidence and understanding without rushing him, and it's paying off.

Fingers crossed he'll be ready for some game this season, and with a bit more experience, he'll be ready to compete next season. 🀞🐾πŸ’ͺ

The other night I put this blind out for young Bert. Unfortunately, I'd set it about 20 yards too far, so I changed it into a memory retrieve and let him finish on a success.

This morning I put it back in exactly the same place as a blind, and he absolutely nailed it.

Never finish a training session on a negative if you can help it. Build your dog up, grow their confidence, and set them up to succeed. Bert is a sensitive lad, so he needs those rewards and confidence boosts. 😁πŸ’ͺ🐾

Just what you want to hear from a handler who took part in a full days training in sugar beet.

A superb day which was run very professionally by Sharon and Corey, a definite must for anyone wanting to experience training in sugarbeet in East Anglia ready for trialling season or any late working tests.
Lots of variety and different lengths of retrieves that were offered with no pressure to take but no problem to repeat or decline if wanted.
A great day and well priced too! 😎.
