My dog, Amber 🥰

My own lovely girl has had a groom as extra amounts of her blonde hairs were shedding around the house, getting on the sofas/beds (yes, she is allowed!) and we were fed up with finding it stuck to our clothes.

After a reluctant start, she ended up being extremely pleased with herself! She smells fresh, looks smooth and the housework has suddenly got easier - brilliant 🙌🏼

Evie’s brother Rolo came in to me a while ago and his owners liked his shorter style, so today it was Evie’s turn✂️

Evie was incredibly shy (never been to a groomer before) but very sweet natured and she let me do everything as long as I took plenty of time to gain her trust. At the end I gave her lots of fusses and treats - she was full of beans and gave me kisses so I think she’s happy with me 😂. Well done Evie, you’re a star.

Massive welcome this week to new puppies Dory and Crumpet!

Both these cuties are 14 weeks old and just beginning their ‘puppy pack’ introduction to grooming. This will help build their trust and confidence to give them the best possible start in their lifetime of grooms ahead ✂️

Both sets of owners are being completely brilliant in supporting their puppy with the process at home - touching feet and ears, desensitising to noise and using proper brushing techniques. I’m genuinely excited to see these little ones grow and develop!

Gentle boy Veera had a longer trim this time, which was possible as his family are great at brushing his coat correctly between grooms. Regularly brushing out those knot-prone friction areas (behind ears, under the armpits, insides of back legs, paws, collar/harness rub zones), most importantly keeps a dog moving around comfortably, but also lessens the chance of having to take a trim shorter due to extensive mats. Veera, you were a darling!

Sprocker, Rolo 🥰

Rolo has never visited a groomer before, or been left alone with anyone outside his family, so it was extra important he was made to feel as calm and safe as possible. A meet and greet last week was essential to help him feel familiar with me/the salon and to help me identify any areas where he might need some extra support or adjustments when he came in. Rolo gave the clippers a red flag 🚩 but his owners have been brilliant by carefully desensitising him at home over the past few days using a set of their own hair clippers.

I’m so proud of Rolo today for trusting me - he let me do everything that needed to be done with a gorgeous stoic attitude! He stood nicely on the table, been brushed, carded, bathed, dried, clipped and scissored without any cares and he’s gone away looking very shiny and smart. A lovely boy 🥰
