Targeting exercise with Taco. The plan is to get in as many reps as possible in one minute. This was attempt number two.

My cousin Katie unearthed this picture the other day amongst a load of my grandad’s army photos. Likely to have been taken in India in the 1930s. A proper working dog. 😂

Confidence building with inaccessible hides and unstable surfaces. Stepping out of Raven’s comfort zone a bit. Adding a bit of pressure and time to encourage him to make the decision to move forward to odour on his own. What a team. 🐾

Three incredible days learning from Simon Prins ACT! surrounded by people who share the same passion for detection, training and developing better working dogs.

A huge amount of knowledge, discussion, practical learning and plenty to take away and put into our own training.

Massive thank you to Simon and everyone who made the three-day workshop such a brilliant experience.

An opportunity I won’t forget.

A great 3 day workshop with Simon Prins, hosted by WolfK-9 at our new joint venue near Stoneleigh, Warwickshire (stay tuned for more details).
Lots of information to put into practice, and it definitely showed me some gaps in my training that I need to work on.
Nice to catch up with some trainers I know, and meet some new ones. Plenty of ideas bounced around, a bit of nerves and frustration, a lot of learning and a good dose of humour thrown in.

Introducing Bert to a simple discrimination exercise. Not only is he a cute little dog, he already has a nice natural indication 🙂
