🦮Trail Hunt International continuation class worked on “live” and “dead” pods today.
A great way to ensure the dogs are following and recognising the odour and ‘not just using their eyes’ to see the pods (they had to ignore pods without odour in them that were placed along and away from the trail)🦮🐾🦮

🌟Trail Hunt International foundations week two, we spent the first part of the lesson really reinforcing getting a reward on the odour. Then introduced the dogs to turns in the trail.
We’ve learnt not to over manage the dog, stay nice and quiet and reward them for making the right decisions. If the foundations are strong enough it’s then just about giving the dogs confidence. Great work everyone 🌟🌟🌟

🌟New Classes🌟 - Trail Hunt International foundation course - perfect for PET DOGS 🌟

Cost is £100 with £40 deposit to secure place (deposit non refundable unless place is resold).

Please make sure you can make all dates:

Sundays 9.30-11am
24th may, 31st May, 14th June, 21st June.

🌟🌟Trail Hunt International Foundations 🌟
Trail Hunt is a mix of tracking and trailing, we teach the dogs to follow an aniseed scent. It is great to tire out energetic dogs but can also be practiced in any space and by yourself (unlike tracking or trailing where you need an unused space or a second person).

🦮Scentwork is great for all dogs but especially those with limited mobility or are older and less mobile.

A great skill that will mentally tire your dog for those hot or wet days or if they are on limited excercise.

Good for anxious or dogs with behaviour issues. Small classes, loads of space and dogs worked as individuals and do not interact.

Reward based training.

Everything is outside so please be prepared for the weather.

🌟Continuation Trail Hunt International session had the theme of “slowing down and thinking!” - using components like gaps in the trail and quick turns after the start to get dogs to really focus on the trail right from the start.

Watching the dogs as they go in and out of odour is really interesting, each dog reacts differently, these exercises help owners understand and read their dogs better 🦮🐾🦮

Well done everyone some great work over the last four weeks finishing with hard surface training and some proper trails 🦮

If you would like to give this fun sport a go there are still spaces available in the next foundations course, see post below for dates. A great fun activity for any age or breed of pet dog 😀😀😀
