🚿 “Cats don’t need baths!” One of the biggest grooming myths!
While cats are fantastic self groomers, licking themselves isn’t the same as properly cleansing the coat & skin. A professional bath can make a HUGE difference, particularly for long-haired, dense-coated, oily or older cats.
At AristoCat Care, bathing isn’t simply popping your kitty in the tub with some shampoo! 🛁
✨ The process matters. I use professional, cat-specific products designed for feline skin & coats. Where needed, a suitable degreasing product can help remove excess oils & build-up that regular grooming alone simply can’t.
✨ A clean coat is easier to maintain. Removing oils, dirt, loose coat & build-up helps the hairs separate properly rather than sticking together & tangling, which can help reduce the conditions that contribute to matting.
✨ Then comes the DryVac! Rather than blasting the cat with a traditional high-velocity dryer, my DryVac system gently draws water & loose coat away while I work through the fur. This helps dry right down through those dense coats, separates the hairs & removes an incredible amount of loose undercoat.
✨ And no, bathing doesn’t automatically “stress cats out”. Every cat is an individual, which is why the whole process is adapted to the cat in front of me. With appropriate handling, feline-specific products & equipment designed around keeping things as calm as possible, many cats cope brilliantly with bathing & drying.
The end result? A properly clean, fluffy, free-flowing coat that’s much easier to maintain & usually a LOT less loose fluff heading home with you! 😂🐱
