The face behind the business 😁

As I embark on a new chapter of Cotton Dog, I thought it was time for a fresh introduction.

This is me, Kelly - a smiley, organised, neat and tidy person, who loves a cup of Yorkshire tea, a sweet treat, the outdoors, and all the little things in life!

As a military spouse, I have been very fortunate to have travelled and experienced countries and cultures, I had only once dreamed of visiting, and to build a small business that gives me flexibility around being "mummy" to our son, and holding the fort whilst my husband is away on duty.

As we settle permanently in Suffolk, I am looking forward to growing my lovely little business here, and meeting four legged friends, and their humans along the way!

The story behind the name...

Cotton Dog, affectionately known as "Poochey" was my huge golden doodle who adventured alongside me for close to 12 years, and is the reason I took a leap and set up my little business, originally in Hawaii in 2023, and now back home in Suffolk.

Cotton was a very calm, gentle soul, who was a friend to all. She was an outstanding adventure buddy, and together we clocked up many, many miles exploring far and wide, and ultimately enjoying her golden years on white sandy beaches under the shade of palm trees and a sea breeze.

After losing Cotton, I filled my heart and my home with doggies who needed love, safety, oodles of patience, and a fresh start. Fostering was such a fulfilling, often challenging, but the most rewarding experience.

Then came my Cotton Dog business.

So that covers the "Hounds" but what about the "Hooves"?

Hooves are a new addition to my business in Suffolk. My own horse, Drizzle, now a dignified gentleman at the age of 25, once (and sometimes still!) spritely, with a kind and affectionate nature, has been with me since he turned just 4 years old.

Over the past year, I have had the pleasure of caring for a wonderful herd of horses and donkeys, with whom I got to know each character, whinny, bray and favourite scratching spots!

Both dogs and horses have such a significant role in providing me with happiness - even in the darkest of wet winter days.
