Keep all your chocolate where your pets cannot reach them!

🍫 As much as we all love to indulge in some chocolate over Easter, it is important to remember that it can be dangerous for our pets.

Chocolate poisoning is particularly common at this time of year, especially with the large amounts of Easter eggs that are readily available, and sometimes hidden too. Chocolate contains theobromine, which can be toxic to dogs and cats.

To keep your pet safe, keep all chocolate away from them and opt for pet-safe treats instead.

🌻 🐶 While daffodils can be beautiful and bring a burst of colour to your garden, they can be toxic to dogs if ingested. The most dangerous parts of daffodils are the bulbs, which contain lycorine and other alkaloids that can cause gastrointestinal irritation.

The symptoms of daffodil poisoning in dogs include:

⚠️ Nausea, retching and excess salivation
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Drooling or slobbering
⚠️ Diarrhoea
⚠️ Rapid breathing
⚠️ Faster than normal heart rate
⚠️ Seizures

As the daffodils start to make a welcomed appearance, if your pet has ingested any part of a daffodil, please get in contact with us immediately.

Good advice.

As of yesterday (10th June), it is now a legal requirement to have your cat microchipped.

We have a great offer, where you can microchip your cat for only £10 during June 2024.

🐾 Owners will be required to microchip their cats by the time they reach 20 weeks of age.
🐾 Owners found not to have microchipped their cat will have 21 days to comply or potentially face a fine of up to £500.
🐾 A microchip around the size of a grain of rice, is implanted between the shoulder blades just under the skin, programmed with a unique number. When an animal is found, the microchip can be read with a scanner and the registered keeper identified on a database, so that the pet can quickly be reunited with them.

Book your microchip now on 01384 372849.

With so many cats clients, (as well as dog clients), I am hoping for your support during this challenge. Everyone who knows me knows that I love cats and also enjoy walking, so this is the purrfect challenge for me to take on during February! Please help me to help cats. I'm walking out in the cold so that cats don't have to be out in the cold. Thank you and every single donation counts, no matter how small 😻

Keep cats cool with a cool gel mat in the hot weather. Ours love their mats. Another tip to cool your cat is to put their favourite yoghurt treats in the fridge, their very own ice cream! 😸😸
