A little preparation now can help your pet feel safer when fireworks begin.

🐾 Create a quiet, comfortable safe space at home.
🐾 Close windows and curtains to reduce flashes and noise.
🐾 Add familiar bedding, toys or enrichment.
🐾 Keep pets indoors when fireworks are expected.
🐾 If appropriate, introduce sound desensitisation gradually and well in advance.

Every pet is different. If your dog, cat or small animal becomes very anxious around fireworks, please speak to our veterinary team early. We can offer advice tailored to your pet and help you plan ahead.

Ever wondered what a LASER therapy session looks like for your pet?
Join Winston as he experiences his very first LASER therapy session with us!
As you can see, Winston’s treatment is focused on his back, with the laser gently moved over the area being treated.

For pets requiring a course of treatment, our chronic condition package includes:
• 6 × 40-minute sessions for £150
Treatment will often start with 2 sessions per week for a few weeks, depending on your pet’s individual needs. We’ll keep a close eye on how your pet is responding and review the frequency of sessions where appropriate.

Autumn walks are full of wonderful smells, but some seasonal hazards can be harmful to our pets. 🍂

Please take extra care around:

🐾 Conkers and acorns – these can cause illness or an intestinal blockage if eaten.

🐾 Wild mushrooms – never let your pet eat mushrooms you cannot identify as safe.

🐾 Antifreeze – even small amounts can be extremely dangerous. Keep it securely stored and clean up any driveway spills immediately.

Keep pets away from unknown items during walks and check your garden and driveway regularly. If you think your pet has eaten something harmful, contact PowisVets straight away for advice. Please do not induce vomiting unless a veterinary professional specifically tells you to.

We’re excited to announce that we’re now offering Class 4 LASER therapy at Powis Vets!

This non-invasive, pain free treatment administers near infrared light to reduce pain, inflammation and improve healing. By working to accelerate the body’s natural healing process, it can benefit pets living with:

Our visiting surgeon will be joining us at PowisVets to perform the surgery using our purpose-built facilities and equipment.

The 40-minute clinic includes:
🐾 A thorough examination, including a mobility check
🩸 Blood testing for diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease and overactive thyroid
💗 A blood-pressure check
