🐾 Skills Awards – Why taking your time matters 🐾

One of the things I love about NNA is that it allows teams to progress at a pace that suits them.

A dog can stage up once they have achieved 2 badges in each element, but NNA also encourages handlers to really build confidence and consistency by aiming for all 3 badges in each element. Achieve this and you’re rewarded with a silver Skills Award pin badge 🥈🐾

It can be tempting to move up as soon as you can, but remember… just because your dog can stage up doesn’t always mean they should.

Taking the time to gain more experience in all search elements helps build stronger foundations, confidence, problem-solving skills and a more resilient search dog. The next stage will always be there, but a solid foundation is priceless.

Celebrate the journey, not just the stage progression 🐶💜💚

2 The National Nosework Association trials today for the youngest girls.

First up Pigeon who got her last exterior badge to complete the set and move up to the next level of Entry.

Then next was Monkey who only required a selection badge to move up and allow Pigeon to be able to complete at her new level. Monkey not only got her selection but won the trial.

Thanks to K9 Track & Train for coming to judge for us and Jane for allowing us yet another stunning venue to hold the trial at.
