WEEK THREE OF THE BUILD 🔨

We’ve been extremely busy this week, lots of late nights and heavy duty work 👷🏽‍♀️

Dee worked hard to get reception ready, the floor is laid, the coffee machine is set up and the desk has been built from scratch 💪🏽

We had 4 tonnes of sand delivered for the beach which poor Ben had to wheelbarrow from the front 😅

The build has started in the main room with the ball pit and some of the climbing structures now complete. We can’t wait to show you all of the main room but we will be keeping some of it a surprise until the main launch.

We also managed to lay some artificial grass which the girls tried and tested (and loved). We feel like we’ve made some huge progress this week and are on track to open on the 26th June.

And the best part? Our website is now LIVE and bookings are officially OPEN! ✨

Week TWO of Barks indoor park build 🐾

This week saw the start of the beach area here at Barks. We have added the splash pools, the balustrade for the sand and even Dee got hands on with the tools 😉

We also gave the toilet a refresh, fitted a new floor and added some cheeky tile stickers 🐶

We also have an exciting announcement to come later this week that may involve a date 👀

MEET THE OWNERS 👋🏼

Hi, we’re Dee & Ben, the faces behind Barks Park 🐾

We created Barks Indoor Park because we believe every dog deserves the chance to play, explore and be free in a safe environment, without the worries that some owners may experience outdoors.

No matter their breed, temperament, age or condition, we believe that every dog deserves to have fun 🥎

Our two Jack Russells, Bella & Tilly, can be reactive at times, and our late boy Jak became blind in his later years, so we understand firsthand some of the challenges dog owners face.

That’s exactly why creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for dogs means so much to us ❤️

We can’t wait to meet you and your pups at Barks Park!

BUILD WEEK ONE 🔨

We’ve had lots going on behind the scenes this week at Barks Indoor Park as we start the build/renovation.

We’ve had lots of exciting deliveries including 5000 balls for the ball pit 🥳

We’ve painted the whole park to make it a blank canvas for our mural artist next week 🎨

We’ve also made some structural changes to make way for an office behind reception, the sink is now on the other side and the small window has been changed to a door way.

Our girls 💕
Meet Bella & Tilly 🐾

Bella (first photo) is a Parson’s Jack Russell and the oldest of our 2 girls. She’s very loving and sweet, her favourite place is the beach and when she’s there she refuses to leave; so much so that we have to physically carry her away. She’s obsessed with balls but can’t wait to try out Bark’s beach first 🏖️

Tilly (second photo) is our youngest and our late Jak’s daughter. She is the complete opposite to Bella, she’s like a tornado, full of energy, totally mad and wants all of the toys to herself. Her favourite game is to hide her favourites under the sofa because Bella can’t fit to get them back 🙈 she can’t wait to try out the ball pit first 🥎

Our logo is inspired by our love of Jack Russell’s, our late Jak (as your saw in a previous post) and our girls Bella & Tilly (you’ll meet them soon) and really is the heart of our brand here at 🐾

Our JAK 🐾🌈

The inspiration behind Jak’s corner, our fully loaded sensory corner for blind dogs.

Jak was 15 when we lost him last year, we had him from 18 months old and he was our whole world. Unfortunately Jak went blind in his later years so providing lots of sensory stimulation and comfort during his remaining time was key for us.

Jak’s corner will have lots of scents, textures and padded walls for that all important enrichment dogs with sight impairment need 🐶
