Training doesn’t always look like training 🐾
At the weekend we took three of the dogs to Trentham Gardens.
The plan wasn’t to teach them anything new. It was to take things they already know and practise them somewhere where life is happening all around them.
We started somewhere quieter, doing a little bit of individual work and engagement, before heading into the crowds.
People passing. Dogs. Children. Shops. Food. Noise. New smells. Lots to watch and take in.
And sometimes the training was simply… doing nothing.
Being able to settle. Watch the world go by. Choose to check back in with us. Walk through a crowd without needing to interact with everything in it.
Those little things might not look particularly impressive on a training field, but out in the real world they can be huge.
Three very different dogs, each experiencing the same environment in their own way. ❤️
Not perfect dogs. Not perfect training.
Just building skills that help them navigate the real world with us. 🐾
