Hello! At last … a few pictures from National Meadows Day here on the 4th of July. It was wonderful to see such activity, from writing, walks, sketching and drawing flowers to tea drinking, conversations, and cake! And to welcome families, nature enthusiasts and artists to share this special place.
The moths as usual were a great hit and you’ll find some wonderful photographs of these and other nature inspirations from the day in the last 7 collections in this post, photographs taken by Claire Pettingale … beautiful, sensitive pictures that show the amazing world we share. Thank you to artists & Andrea Durrant who created magical displays of nature to draw in the engine hall, to - Alison, for the opportunity to write on the day, (do look at her insta page and find out about exciting writing workshops coming up), thank you to ecologist Ann Cantrell for the very informative walks and David Rowe for the Moth excitements!
We remember with lots of love Mark’s dear cousin, entomologist Jonathan Delf who died this Summer. He was a wonderful supporter; his enthusiasm and knowledge was inspirational and shared at events here. Thank you Jon X Sharlene Cheng artandnature
