Remember to choose options specifically made for dogs to help keep tails wagging and tummies happy 💙

Some human ice creams can contain ingredients that may be harmful to pets, including:

⚠️ Chocolate
⚠️ Xylitol (artificial sweetener)
⚠️ Certain nuts and toppings
⚠️ Too much dairy

As temperatures rise again across the UK, remember: if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for them. ❤️

Our pets can't cool themselves as easily as we can, and heatstroke can become a life-threatening emergency in a matter of minutes.

As a reminder, here are a few simple ways to keep them safe:
🐶 Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening.
💧 Make sure fresh, cool water is always available.
🌳 Keep pets in the shade and provide cool places to rest.
🚗 Never leave a pet in a parked car – even for a few minutes.
🐾 Check pavements with the back of your hand. If it's too hot for you to hold it there for 5 seconds, it's too hot for their paws.
❄️ Help them stay cool with damp towels, cooling mats, or frozen treats suitable for pets.

⚠️ Watch for signs of heatstroke:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Collapse

If you think your pet may be suffering from heatstroke, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of water, start cooling them with cool (not ice-cold) water, and contact us immediately.

Let's help all our four-legged friends enjoy the sunshine safely! ☀️🐕🐈

With temperatures soaring across the UK, it’s important to help our furry friends stay safe and comfortable.

🐶 Dogs
• Walk early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler.
• Always provide fresh water and access to shade.
• Cooling mats, damp towels, and paddling pools can help them beat the heat.
• Never leave dogs in parked cars, even for a few minutes.

🐱 Cats
• Ensure plenty of fresh water is available throughout the home.
• Create cool resting spots away from direct sunlight.
• Wet food can help increase their water intake.
• Groom regularly to remove excess fur and improve airflow through the coat.

🐰 Small Animals (Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters & More)
• Move hutches and enclosures out of direct sunlight.
• Provide frozen water bottles wrapped in towels for them to lie beside.
• Ensure constant access to fresh water.
• Monitor closely for signs of heat stress, as small pets can overheat very quickly.

⚠️ Signs of heatstroke can include excessive panting, lethargy, drooling, wobbliness, and collapse. If you’re concerned about your pet, contact your vet immediately.

Stay cool and stay safe! 🌡️🐾
