It’s so lovely to see all my clients out and about whilst with the baby. However can I politely request that people aren’t touching or kissing him. It’s surprising us how often we’re having to reiterate this. We’re following NHS guidelines and our own families haven’t even given him a kiss yet.
For the first 12 weeks of a babies life they are extremely vulnerable and susceptible to viruses.
Today alone at a food and drink festival we have had a good 15 people touch our baby without our consent despite being strapped to my chest . Particularly a fascination of touching and stroking his hair. That’s 15 lots of germs on a baby that’s 9 weeks old.
On a personal level I’m also trying to raise my children to be autonomous beings. Consent matters. Myself and my husband don’t feel comfortable with people that are not immediate family or close friends kissing or touching our children.
